Nice unrestored 246 GT for sale from first owner

A very nice unrestored Dino 246 will be sold on July 3rd by Dorotheum Vienna:

The car is really in great shape, the first and last owner bought the Dino in 1971 and cherished his car like a baby.
Both owner and car were famous in my hometown for their hydrophobia - whenever they attended an event or a private invitation and some nimbostratus clouds appeared, the drive escaped back home into the dry garage.

I have no private connection to the owner's family, but had the opportunity to see the Dino several times - the charisma of such an unmolested car is incredible - from door closing sound to the original interior smell.

 

The seats have some extra protector cushions to stand the summer heat - the fire extinguisher, tapes with 70s music and radio are for sure not original Ferrari, but show the purpose of the car - to be driven. The owner had no intention at all to win a concourse, he wanted to drive for his pleasure.
His widow drives a Delta Integrale for the same reasons.

Keeping the car in best shape was easy as the owner ran one of the best classic and sportscar garages in Austria.

Some years ago, the owner told me that the original steering wheel was re-painted in black and the original Dino Skai is still under the cloth. A matter of personal taste, but easy to correct.
