Seems like you sold it for a deal. If only you were in the U.S . I've been wondering what I would trade one of my 355s in for when the time comes and I've narrowed it down to only a few cars. 1. Challenge Stradale 2. 458 3. 599 and do a manual conversion 4. 997.1 GT3RS 5. 991.2 GT3 manual None of these cars I love that much. Challenge Stradale seems to be the smartest choice although I'm not certain I would like it.
I love the 360 CS and in general I hate the Modena (with the F1). That said...I don't think I could let go of my 355 dollar for dollar what I sold the CS for. That's the weird part. Your list is pretty on point IMO. I will probably have another CS one day. The 458 in the right spec is what I'd like to add soon. 599's are an incredible value. I have a 997.1 GT3 and love it...but an RS would be a lifer car. 991.2 GT3 manual would be great but I'm on the wait list for the 992 and I plan on hopefully getting it in Touring trim with a manual.
My guess is 175k but I am average, at best, in intelligence. Would have thought this would be bring a trailer all over it. Wonder why it went to a site dedicated to Porsche? I'm guessing they take a lower precentage?
I'm not surprised. I debated posting it in here and maybe just buying it myself...but I already have enough cars I don't drive. It was extremely well priced and a rare spec. My guess is someone reading this thread bought it. Lol
Is you 997.1 GT3 manual? Will you put it on the market when you get you 992? I would be very interested....
All 997 GT cars were manual. I'm not sure yet. I think it's a modern classic already. I'd love an RS though as a long term hold.
I don’t disagree! If my day wasn’t so busy yesterday that I couldn’t check the forums I might have bought it! I hunt every morning. Green really isn’t my color tho, I would have settled because of the deal. I still think there is gonna be a small correction next year, not a crazy one but for sure a correction in my opinion. That car at Cats with 100k on it is looking better and better as a driver
Here's a nice GTS for those who don't mind the F1: 1998 F1 GTS Nero / Beige 19,046 miles Clean car IMO, no signs of repaint. Fresh major service and new tires included with price. Doesn't appear to have sticky interior (maybe was already addressed). Nice original example. Apparently factory optioned with the challenge grille as well. $94,900 USD Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login I don't expect this to last long personally. It's at Ferrari of Detroit as well so you know the major will be done correctly.
LOL was just about to post that. Needs nothing. Leather looks right and no stickies. Fully serviced. As a GTB fanboy I didn't know the GTSes had a cover for the roof. Pretty cool. https://www.cauleyferrari.com/used-vehicle-1998-ferrari-f355-gts-c-394/ Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login View attachment 1470443
This guy? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1996-porsche-911-carrera-4s-48/ 355 will finish higher. Market correction is coming
Fee is the same. My guess is Pcar is more willing to give the seller a much higher reserve than BAT. This is good to know because it appears Pcar is just as effective as BAT in bringing the money with less risk. We'll have to tune in to this auction to see if there's any consistency.
Goes back to what I was saying before. Even if a deal does show up, you need to be FAST and lucky. And yes, 100k mi 355 is looking like a gem right now . Everyone seems to be hoping for a correction at some point in the future, but from what price range though? What if the peak is $200-250k? A small correction from there?
I love my berlinetta but man I’m never going to track it and don’t care abt stiffness, I never drive it in the rain either. Green is the wife’s favorite color so if I could swap to that car solves a lot of problems…
Not surprised. Was well priced considering the condition and mileage. Seems like some dealers aren't aware of real market values. There's some deals to be had but have to move fast. That green GTS would probably have fetched $30-40k more on BaT.
