For sure, but it doesn't get driven except once around the block at low speed a couple of time a year just to get things hot. I keep saying, I'll get new tires on it this summer but never get around to it. Surprisingly, while not to be taken as an indication of condition, they show no external cracking or dry rot. I've had 5 year old tires the visually have cracks and splits in the sidewalls and tread. Frankly, I'm baffled as to why they haven't fallen apart.

For a car not driven much and with original tires (!) I am surprised the plastic caps deteriorated! Unless stored outside in the sun, but which I doubt due to your tire condition, that would not be what I would expect. But I guess age is not kind to some plastics.

It does have 32k miles on it. But the cap cracked a long time ago. Probably within the first 5 or 10 years of ownership. I have a set of new center caps (original style) that I bough years ago. But for obvious reasons I haven't put them on. And yes, the car is stored inside, but not climate controlled. And the tires were always treated with Armorall. Don't know if that made a difference, but it was pretty much all there was when the car was new.

Anyway, some one was asking for pictures of NOS center caps.

Here is what the new ones look like for comparison. This is what's on my F355 and newer cars. Much thinner black outer ring.

First two photos with the box are exactly like those I bought 6 years ago, even down to the green marking.
Notice how there is no metal O ring.

Is there not a rubber O ring, that is what is on my originals?

No O ring on the original version, only fitted on the updated, darker coloured version (the bottom photo).
