There's a title company about a mile from my house that does business out of a Ferrari dealership that closed around 30 years ago. Since then, the only indication of the building's history was the red stripe going around the perimeter. Well they finally remodeled the outside of the building and took away the red stripe :( but in its place they added these signs as a nod to the past. The ramp behind my car is how they'd bring cars into the showroom.

They're SAC (Speedline America) Monolites. I was told they're a cousin to the RAC monolite wheels made for Champion Motorsports. I can't remember who, but someone here gave a dissertation about their history. They're forged and super light.

Out to a pub this evening with my wife. Little traffic, took the long route round, “I like the click of the gate” meant I felt we were both enjoying the journey.

Any UK-familiar Fchat members recognise this pub? It served its first pint around 450 years before our cars were made.

Very nice! My manual 575 (in a similar gentleman’s spec) doesn’t have the little storage by the gearlever as it’s RHD. The lever is also canted over towards the driver, and the gate itself is located a little to the right, but not as near the driver as the LHD original.

Given that they moved the positioning of the gate, does anyone know what is it that stopped the gate being moved all the way over to the right so that the right-hand drive gates were in exact symmetry of the left-hand drive ones?

That was likely as far as they could move it without causing binding in the shifter rods and joints on the port side of the transaxle. Should be similar on the 550 since the two share shifter mechanisms.

Thanks Taz. Makes sense. We do without the coin pocket.

I remember you or someone said there was some difference between 550 and 575 boxes but I can’t remember what that was?
