I'm looking at the F3 race currently and doens't seem the raining, however the track is def. wet.

 

Race Day!! Happy Race Day! Lower temps should help the tires. This should be an easy Max win I think.

 

The colder weather does equalize things a bit if it's dry for the mediums. Easy win is way too early to say right now as we quite simply don't know if the car will be as strong in the race as it was in quali.

Historically speaking (even going back to Portugal/Spain!) the Merc should be very strong on race pace on a track like this. If it's dry and the RBR has the pace to retain the lead, they have brought out some good upgrades that work in both quali and race.

 

Realistically hoping for 5th & 6th for the red cars; race pace looked decent on Friday.

I think the stint on Hard compound could be interesting!! I still think its a Max win. He was finely tuned in Prac 3 and it has never changed.

I went into this weekend with the hope that Red Bull is close to Mercedes, a few tenths away at most during quali and finishing close to Lewis on Sunday. From what I saw in Practice Max did look very happy in the car but it was also clear the Mercs where running heavy. If it's the easy win you predict, it's a definite turning point in the season, and Mercedes will likely have a lot of work to do.

Nice review of turns 1 and 3 with SKY and the pressure points there.

The race pace analysis was not completely in favor in Mercedes. Yes and also not as much as say Spain. Keeping position will negate the leverage Mercedes might have in marginal pace. If the mediums last long with low temp we have an interesting situation. 2 stops does not appear to be super fast vs 1.

 

F1TV is just the worst (for me at least)….

I can never get the race to stream live. Always some technical issue that shockingly never occurs during the pre-race show.
