Once a laughing stock, now look at them. They could have given up easily but didn't. I for one chastised them. Now I applaud them. Gotta give 'em credit. What has Ferrari done in that time?
All true. Great and admirable to see you've owned up to it. Ferrari on the other hand, well........I have no words. What I can say is that it definitely ain't the drivers.
Ferrari have stayed with the 'Mission win something somehow its the tires' logo! Im happy for RedBull. Now they remember how to win for this year. Next year is a bit tough to predict.
When Honda entered into this turbo-hybrid era, they were the laughing stock on the grid. "Honda Dreams of Power" They didn't quit. In 2021, Honda is now "The Power of Dreams"
Thanks Mayor. I keep yapping about the lack of love for Honda power here. Finally a fun season with Mad Max having a chance to be Driver Champion and Honda the Constructor Champion (long season, lots can go wrong, MB is a big strong team and will not quit). Powered by Honda P1, 3, 7 today. Ferrari P11, 16 today. My NSX has run great since October 2016. The best Hybrid in the world (to me), the SF90 has software bugs to be dealt with. I wish Ferrari could extricate themselves 100% from Fiat and Cry Slur.

We have had the following Honda products 79 Civic 84 CRX 86 Accord 90 Accord 92 Accord 00 S2000 04 TL 17 NSX Snow Blower Lawn Tractor The only one that didn’t deliver on quality was the TL
Honda is out. RedBull is taking over and have 2 extra facilities just for this new venture in the PU. RedBull have also recruited personnel from Mercedes for the PU.
Proper perseverance. So happy for their success! Big love for the S2000 here...such a rev-happy engine! Great cars and always loved that dashboard, even now that dashboard hasn't ''dated' as much as it should.
The S2000 was a blast Wailed on it for close to 7 years and then it went to a nice lady in the Carolinas. Only replaced the 12V battery and an oxygen sensor (for $86) in all that time I do feel the car is at least partially to blame for my tinnitus, basically like driving next to a chainsaw Oil and filter changes were only $12, those were the days, more like $400 for the NSX (but less frequent, only 1 in over 4 1/2 years on the road) Honda has a crazy range of products, electric generators to jets They don't get sufficient credit for their motorsports I wish they made more sports cars but they don't The NSX sells so few units (8-15 per month in the US), I could see them shutting it down
man so cheap to service. No wonder you have tinnitus...9000RPM, that has to be explored every drive! I do like the new NSX. Great looking car and this time has the power to back it up. The NA1-2 NSX where fantastic but for me vastly underpowered, also ridiculously small inside.
When McLaren ripped up their 10 year contract, Honda was at the very bottom. They had to beg to get into a secondary team. Then they moved up slowly and now seem to have the best engine on the grid. That's pretty impressive considering how easy it would have been to quit.
I’m happy they are doing well and that we have some competition. I’m not happy to see your thread title before I even get to watch the race. It would seem your title would indicate that Honda / Red Bull had a great day at the track. It was top post viewing on the home page highlighting the F1 section without even clicking on F1. How about you give the rest of us an opportunity to soak up say a few hours to catch up on watching it - or just say “Honda” with a new thread title on race day… Robb
Honda at F1 always has been a bit erratic: they suck for years, decide to leave but sell the farm for their last season, bringing a new engine one year before scheduled (that must be very big $$$). They must win this year, or they´ll look like dumbasses again.
Honda had a double win this weekend in F1 and MotoGP.....June 2021. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
HUH? What part of this thread implies anything but Honda is doing well this year? This is not known information? Honda has been kicking Ferrari's and Mercedes butt since testing.
Thank you for the super insightful points. You nailed the situation with Honda. When the Gen 1 NSX came out, the boss at Porsche was asked what are you going to do. He basically said we are in the sports car business and will continue to improve our product. Then he turned it around and said (correctly) will Honda do that? Honda did the Gen 1 NSX and then under-supported it for the next 14 years, then removed the car from the market. The company is about mobility and responsibility and couldn't get then arm around doing a car with enough power to be competitive, then cycled through a bunch of failed concepts and then built an interesting Gen 2 car that was late to market, thus underpowered, and lacked the customization available from others in the space. Then we have the S2000, a wonderful one off anniversary car that tormented the Boxster for a bit, but was also under-supported and milked for years and then removed from the market. Honda has stunk it up in F1, hard to tell if they finally got it together from experience of excess resources this year.
Content is not the issue. Posting that title immediately after the race ended on race day for all to see is the issue…. There is a pinned notice on posting thread titles that give away race results. I’m not the only mod who sees your thread as a problem. Title changed. Warning noted. Robb
