    Hi Team

we are presently having a bit of a drought on the Michelin 215/70VR15 XWX.

    However we doi have alternatives

Pirelli Stelvio - special tyres made just for the GTO. bit odd. slightly old, and i only have a few, but they look cool.

What about the Pirelli Cinturato CN12. This is what Lamborghini and Maserati were fitting. We first got these made for the Muira SV. I think these might be the first 60% profile radial tyre when they stuck the 255/60VR15 CN12 on the back of the SV.

Then the other recent production in this size is the Pirelli P5. This was developed by Pirelli in conjunction with Jaguar for the XJ range, and is a great W rated tyre. but also an absolute steel! its like giving tyres away sell ing them this cheap.

There isn't really anything else that is up to the job.

Oo hang on a minute there is also the Avon CR6ZZ.

They dont really look right. It is a wholey modern tyre and doesn't look right, but the carcass structure is right and handles really well. But unless you are going to get out there and were tyres out i personally would choose not to have a race compoiund getting old. i would rather a road compound. they are designed to last a few years.

There that is it. there is nothing else i would take seriously.

What is the issue with Michelin? Just the usual covid-related supply chain stuff, which should clear up in 6 months or so, or something deeper?

I believe it is the Coroney.

i don't think they have lost interest, but they have other on going projects that are still on going, such as white wall tyres for the VW Beetle Volkswagen Beetle Tyres (longstonetyres.co.uk)

We have major supply problems on many of our ranges of classic tyres.
