I’m really surprised by how quiet Ferrari / the market have been since the official launch of the 812 C...

Count prestige is lovely - had it in our Superfast and it looks and feels beautiful.

This is likely a dumb question answered elsewhere, but does anyone know what the resale restrictions are going to be on the 812 Competizione/CA? I'm assuming there is a minimum time owners have to hold onto it? Maybe some here have already signed... Cheers.

There is no contractual restriction as far as i know…Which is normal for Limited Series of normal production cars. However Ferrari expect people to keep the car for minimum 2 years (they did with the TDF) and if you sell dont expect to get the next one…
The Icona series has contractual restrictions

I guess it'll look similar to the targa roof of the J50.

Depends on dealer and or region. The norm lies at 18 months.

    2 Questions

    - What do you actually risk if you breach an Icona contract beside being kicked out of futur allocations ?
    - How can Ferrari know you sold the car ? Because the guy who brings it to the dealer for servicing is not the same as previously ?

You have the obligation to offer the car to the dealer at list price (or the price that the dealer believes is the market price, which will never be above list). If you sell the car to someone else, Ferrari technically have the right to sue you for the profit you made on the transaction. Whether they would do it or not is another question, but I prefer not to find out and in any case you are guaranteed to be blacklisted. Ferrari will know as soon as a car visits a dealership. Could be servicing, a recall or -God forbid- an accident. I can also tell you that Ferrari have a great network of people that inform them of these things pretty much immediately, so it is better to stick to what you sign and enjoy a good relationship with the factory.

Incidentally the new Ford GT has a similar clause (2yrs) and I know of at least one owner who was sued by Ford in the US.

The 812VS can’t be ordered, you’re right, simply because they are all sold out as Ferrari selected their clients, and deposits have been done already.

Yes, deposits are due. I make my deposit a few weeks ago and it is my understanding that my order will appear in Modis and MyFerrari in a couple weeks.

What are you talking about? Of course there is a sales contract and of course you can order it by now!

The lucky ones amongst us who are getting one, already received an allocation confirmation and made a deposit!

I was told earlier in the year that the car would be in Modis after the August holidays. Will ask dealer today.

I can assure you hydrogen will never be prevalent in any sense, ever. It is too expensive, too dangerous, too difficult to handle and impossible to make in volume required for wide-scale deployment.

Sure, it will find use in various applications, be it military applications and limited other engagements, but never will it be so prevalent to be used for daily transport anywhere you go. Never will occur.

For those who would not be in good spirits looking at the 296 and who could not get an order form for the 812 Competizione, I give you good news.
The replacement for the 812 will be NA V12, so no hybridization.
Ferrari will always live in this section, the other being reserved for i-Ferraris from now on;).
