Wow! I know I have a tendency to overreact and gush at every new Ferrari model, but I must say I haven’t felt this way about a new Ferrari since the 458. -Nailed the design. The front is simple and clean, the side/rear is organic and dare I say perfect -V6 sounds better than the V8, no question. We’ll have to wait and hear what it actually sounds like irl, but there is no question the potential for an absolute banshee wail-screamer is there, even if it must come in the form of an aftermarket solution. -Did I see an 8,500 rpm rev limiter? -Great working getting the weight down <1,500 kg. I’m sure it will be heavier in reality, but nonetheless I am impressed by the quoted 177 hp/l -Finally, a new car that actually looks smaller and more “go-cart” than its predecessors (or I guess in this case there technically aren’t any predecessors). This is the right direction and a direction that many manufacturers are scared to go in. Bravo Ferrari! This is exciting stuff. For the first time since the recent EU lunacy begun, I’m not completely and utterly depressed about the future of performance cars.
Image Unavailable, Please Login It does have a nice ass. Shame the front looks like a watered-down version of the SF90.
Well said! Go karting is a big word! And it does seem to be at least faster than 720s/f8/pista Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I really want to see pricing and how much More it is than the Artura. For $50k more, no brainer. But $100k+ more, makes the Mclaren pretty damn appealing. design wise, I like this a ton. The rear is so good. Also, notice the lack of a stupid shark fin like in the SF90.
100% correct. As Galliera was talking about “fun to drive” I kept thinking...”these guys have been reading FChat posts, and listening.”
A Dino in the name ---------- ----------------------------------------------------NO More combined power than the F8 --------------------------------------------YES No more than 100 kg (222 lbs) over the F8 weight ---------------------------YES A side shape that in the rear part reminds a bit of 246 GT and 25o LM. ---YES A front shape that reminds a bit the SF90 one ------------------------------- YES The same 8 speed gearbox with electric only reverse like the SF90 and electric engine fitted in it------YES RWD only------------------------------------------------------------------------YES 120° V6 TT with inverse intake and exaust like the 1981 racing engine type 021----------YES Single centered and high positioned exhaust---------------------------------------------------YES Same battery and inverter as the SF90 (or an improved evolution, but basically the same)---YES Maybe I wrote less bull@hits then usual... But I'm really sad about the missing Dino name Ciao
Not a fan of those side air intakes at all, really lacking finesse. Other than that, not a bad effort. 830 hp is absolutely insane though. Give us less horsepower and less electronic nannies. That baby will sell.
This will depend largely on where the price point lands. I could be wrong, but it’s not hard to imagine the 296 GTB base MSRP sneaking up into range of the base 765LT at $358,000US. At the very least, it will come with a measurable premium to the Artura, which is fine, as it appears to be measurably more car (830HP to 671HP).
Aesthetically cannibalized mish-mash of 458, Corvette, Evora, SF90..... Ferrari 296 Frankenstein. Huge swing and a miss! Maybe it will be better in person. Or worse.
It is traditional Ferrari: combines elegant curves with exotic stance. Looks nothing like Lambo or British designs. Beautifully done. Manzoni is really proving himself to be a genius.
Utter BS. Not surprised it took less than an hour for someone to drum up the trite “looks like a ‘vette” comment.
So think about this. Ferrari introduced the 3L V8 in the 308 GTB in 1977. With Weber carbs it had 255 HP. It was a revelation. Today with a smaller engine V6 its got over 600 HP and over 800 with hybrid. That's freakin' amazing.
