Hello short youtube video that can be seen of a black / red US Khamsin for sale by K&T Vintage Sports Cars, LLC in Bethlehem PA, USA probably one that is not known yet.
Sounds decent ... I couldn't figure out how to look at their inventory? The car isn't mentioned in the little that I looked at. They seem to love Facebook ...
Hi Roger, Great find, PA is a good place to find sleepy cars with a lot of industry, I recall a factory owner there who had a huge dormant collection. It is very likely an unknown car yes. I will call them this afternoon.
I have to wonder if it's actually there? Their website and FB presence suck. Hopefully they're better on the phone.
How tragic but back then Khamsins were not worth very much for the longest time here in the USA so if a car fell into disrepair of the expensive variety it would typically snowball. November 1989 is pretty much at the peak of the 1st huge speculation in exotic Italian cars. Khamsins didn't go crazy but Boras did with #1044 soaring to over $100K later on. Khamsins were bargain priced for a long, long time after that. Not no more!
It is, I spoke to a very nice straight up guy. It was taken completely apart at an other workshop but then the owner had a change of heart. I have just the resto shop for it.
Here is my article from 1997 or 98 in Il Tridente when I drove it and 5 others during Maser Miglia 1997 in the Rockies around Denver, enjoy. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does not look too bad. Should keep someone occupied for the next few years. Ivan Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What's the link? I couldn't find it on their website. I'm going to guess it was hit or broke down and never fixed then left outside.
No link. I sent them an email. I think Marc may have talked to them on the phone. I have strict orders from my wife not to buy a project car Ivan
Looks like they were attempting a Euro bumper conversion. Real strange in that the Bertone script is in the middle of front fender.
Ok now that we’ve seen some pictures and using the sale of 120504 at 98k US as a baseline. thoughts on what #1234 is worth with the goal of making it a nice driver not a Concours winner?
Well consider that in nine out of ten US sales the car goes to Europe and the fact that they are worth less in the US so both cars cannot be compared exactly. 504 in Europe needs a reawakening after looong sleep whereas this one has a heck of a worklist before the next drive. It also seems the door was hit, otherwise why would it and only it have been repainted? There is a need for more info on what is what on this car otherwise any offers are going to be too low so I am reluctant to put a number at this point. Will get more info today.
The biggest question, Is everything there! Unfortunately you won’t know until you start putting it back together.
But it's not like the parts are hard to find ... right Joe? How much unobtainian is on these cars now? It wasn't too bad when I first bought my Bora.
Marc To me it would be the exact opposite (considering I’m doing one right now), I’d be reluctant to put a number on it being too high not knowing if all the parts are there. I did 3 rounds of major orders from Campana, while each time was smaller, even using the parts book and looking at the car you still miss stuff. You just don’t know until you start putting it back together and 1 small cheap insignificant can delay reassembly weeks if not months trying to find it and having it shipped in, praying it fits. #1226 got delayed months not only because of that, but through in Covid shutdowns on top of it. In addition to Campana there were probably a half dozen other places I bought parts, some thanks to your help. Add to that the question of the overall market, which had been dropping, but may have stopped and possibly ticked up a bit. (unfortunately Maseratis seem to follow the pattern of last one up, first one down) of course all is dictated by the equivalent Ferrari.
This Khamsin is on the Facebook page of a carrozzeria in Italy. (Ex-)US car I think and the remaining paint could be dark green, so maybe #1286? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
