Best one so far! I wish that front was more agressive but looks great overall Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is a prettier car than the 458, and the 458 is pretty much a knock out. You might have to go all the way back to the 355 or even as far back as the 288 GTO. The F8 is a very good looking car but this one tops it.
Well like everything it might need some getting used to or seeing in the flesh. I personally like a lot the f8 but was disappointed by the interior. This interior is a little bit disappointing as far as the vents but I do welcome the technology. If I’m going to get old gauges I got my 355 and Testarossa for that. Overall I’m waiting on pricing to see if it fits my budget! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Normally he is a bit hard to take all right, but in this particular case he does a good job covering the high points. Ray
I think it's more complicated than that. Why, for example, didn't they give the Artura 830hp and a higher price? Their model segmentation is out of phase with Ferrari which makes me think the 720 replacement will have 850-870hp but be 200 kg less than the SF90, and a price closer to the 296 than the SF. Also keep in mind that Mac will want it to be quicker than the 765 which more or less already matches the SF90 performance.
Due to blacked out A-pillar, the roofline looks like cap, just like the new Supra Image Unavailable, Please Login
From what I've seen online so far, it appears to be largely a replacement for the SF90. I'm guessing a lot of SF90 owners out there are wishing that they waited a bit longer before pulling the trigger. I'm also guessing a lot of F8 owners are breathing a collective sigh of relief about now, given that this doesn't appear to be a replacement for the Pista/F8 line. Ray
I know there are many 458 fans (owners ) but seriously, if one wants an outdated car, the 458 could be significantly down the list... The 458 was just one step of the evolutionary path, it's not that special.
I bet you they come out with another turbocharged V8 down the road. I seriously doubt they will stake Ferrari's future on people buying hybrid V6's Ray
Have you ever owned a 458 Italia? If not, you don't know what you're missing. It takes a while of owning the 458 to really appreciate it. When I first bought mine, I didn't really like it all that much. It took me about 2-3 months of driving before I really fell in love. Anyway, back on track w/ the 296GTB - it looks interesting, but just because it's new, that doesn't mean it's going to be enjoyable. Would you buy a hybrid yourself? Ray
My dealer still claims this is the F8 replacement. He said there is nothing in the pipeline to replace the mid engine sports car besides the 298. With the possible exception of the much higher priced SF90
Amazing. Keeps growing on me with every video. Based on those fly-bys around the 1:25 mark, they might have finally figured something out with the sound. Really hoping it isn’t just some microphone trickery.
They do offer a V8 and that's the SF90 Stradale. The F8 Tributo was just a stop gap before the 296, hence why no F8 VS or F8 GT3/GTE/GTLM. Ferrari's mid-engined lineup is now simply split in two: hybrid V6 and hybrid V8.
One thing is confusing though - there is the claim that "it's in a new segment and does not replace any car of the range". Is that marketing BS, or how many different "segments" do they need? The F8 is definitely based on an aging platform, so a replacement for it is really needed. If it's not the 296, what would that be and when? I'm lost...
If that's the case, I think it's going to turn off a lot of their longtime customers. I personally would never buy any of this hybrid Ferrari nonsense. I mean, it's great that they can build all this stuff, but if I want a hybrid or EV, there are many companies other than Ferrari that I would buy from first. For one, I don't trust them to really know what they are doing in the electrical arena; they have enough trouble getting their normal cars to start reliably, let alone making a complex hybrid function correctly. Second, when it comes to sports cars, I want raw V8 or V12 power and that's pretty much where the story ends. Hybrid SUV sure; hybrid sports car, nope. I'm sure there will be no shortage of people to keep drinking the Ferrari Kool-Aid, but it won't be me. Ray
