I did a little research and Chevy made a 1970 LS7 454 - 465hp that was never installed in a car of any type. It was a crate engine. So evidently in the pic above one was put in a mid year vette. Not sure I would have used it over the 427.

Here's a pic of the 1971 LS6 Corvette I had a frame off done to. One of 188 built, and an original Dallas car. Original owner had matching fenders put on his jet boat trailer. Threw a rod pulling the boat in 1978. Was able to take the original 80+ year old owner for a ride in it after the restoration. He teared up. Also had a real LS6 Chevelle at the same time, and was told at the time that Otis Chandler - LA Times, was the only other dual LS6 vette/chevelle owner at the time. Always wanted to drag race the 2 together. Chevelle was an auto, and would run 13.5's all day long. Did a 13.72 in the Vette at a Musclecar Nationals event, and won it's class. Wish I hadn't sold them in the mid 90's, but it allowed me to keep trading other fun stuff.

    It's a hell of a motor !

The LS6! Love it. And the C5 version of the LS6 is what really got the whole LS series rolling to what we have today.

Did you by chance do a thread on garagejournal.com on your house/garage build?

Someone did a thread on their house and garage build who also lives in Utah. Very similar architecture to yours. Here is a link to the website, good stuff going on there.

Baldwin/Motion Phase III GT, that's what I am talking about, thank you! Joel Rosen wanted to compete with Ferrari for one third the price.

1968 Corvette Coupe wearing British Green and a 327 beside it looks interesting to if you like early C3's. Outside of some prototypes for the journalists and PR guys the first 1000 1968 Corvettes built were all convertibles.

Anytime. BTW lately I was looking through some Tonawanda engine production/shipping records for 1969. Prior to being cancelled for MY 1970, Tonawanda shipped two LT-2 M40 assemblies and one LS-7 M40 assembly. Wonder whatever happened to them?

The LS-7 M40 might have gone to Chevrolet Engineering for a Camaro. They built 5 steel cowl induction hoods for 1970 Camaro builds. Bill Jenkins was given one of those prototype cowl induction hoods later on.
Not sure about the LT-2 engine as engineering always had something on the back burner to play with.

1970 production plans(again cancelled) called for availability of ZL-1 RPO or COPO engines for Corvette, Camaro, Chevelle and Nova!
CERV II had a LT-2 and was tested extensively at Milford.
