    My drivers side plastic window button on the 458 broke. Some part of the plastic broke off under the button so it has a lot of play now and when you push down it has so much play it doesn’t actuate the “click” to make the window go down. If I press from a certain angle it will trip the switch about half the time. Huge fear of rolling my window down and not being able to roll it back up.

    How do I replace the switch? What is the part number? Can I replace only the switch or do I need to replace the whole console unit (much more expensive)?

    Any advice is appreciated

    Part # is 88495600. It’s a whole assembly so you’ll be replacing both.

    I've taken apart the center console for sticky button repair. It wasn't hard. Just searched for and watched some YouTube videos.

    If I were you, I'd order the part and try doing it myself. If I got uncomfortable then I'd hire and expert.

    The silver part on the top can be replaced separately, but be careful when fitting a replacement, as they are quite tight to push on, and if you don't support the switch from underneath when fitting you risk breaking that too.

    Make sure you take the switch panel (launch, auto, reverse etc) out above and support the bottom of the electric window switches with your fingers when pushing the silver part on else you may crack the plastic clips off the switch and it will drop down inside which I discovered to my cost!

    You can replace just the silver part of the switch. I replaced both and the cost of each part is under 60 dollars. Check Scuderia Parts, you can order them there. Do have someone with experience change them for you. They are a bit delicate…

    This happened to me about two years ago. Just bought a new part from the dealer and it clicked right into place. A no brainer. 2013 458. Maybe different years are designed differently?
    I don't understand these convoluted explanations.
    It just clicks right in.
