Since this Ferrari honors the Daytona, then Daytona seats it is.

In my opinion, you cant do better than race Daytona seats. Absolutely gorgeous, and actually very comfortable if your body is of average proportions.

I agree totally - you can drive 12h in it without having any problems.

I like the full electric Daytona even though they leave me less headroom, I sill fit fine in the car without resorting to the racing seat. To me, the racing seats are too hard after just a short time. Had them in another car and will never get them in a Ferrari because I have been satisfied with full electric Daytona.

Is there any difference between the Daytona seats and the normal seats other than the pattern? Curious about seat bottom padding.

No difference in the padding and bolsters- just more surface stitching.
I too prefer the electric seats and I’m 6’2”- the race seats are lower yes but with the long hood I almost feel like a gangsta in them and the full electric are heated and fine for this hyperGT

Thanks, that’s what I thought. I’ve driven in the racing seats and they seemed fine, but it was a short ride, and padding didn’t really come into play. I just drove my new 812 for 2 hours the other day and found that it was a bit uncomfortable. Haven’t had much time to mess it with yet (will this weekend) but hoping maybe adjusting bottom seat angle will help.

Due to the GT nature of the car, I specc'd my GTS with comfort seats. Also with heating in case of chilly open top motoring

I had electric Daytonas in my F12 and slid all over the place. No support, seat bottom is soft - couldn’t get/stay comfortable after a while. I much prefer the racing Daytonas. Plenty of support and are much more comfortable as you sit on your glutes without swimming.

It wasn't until I changed the Pirellis on my F12 to the MPS4S that I fully realized what rubbish the Pirellis were.

No brainer- racing seats for the win, especially if you're tall.

There are a number of threads on the subject.

i went racing seats, glad i did

make sure you adjust them far enough back so your lumbar is touching the seat--there should be no space between that area of your back and the seat

There are pix of my car earlier in the thread. This is my third Ferro car so it’s a color I love. Richer and with more depth than Silverstone imho. Cuoio is a good choice. Works well and doesn’t show the dirt like lighter colors. Avoid dash stripe at all costs because of reflection in windscreen.

Couldn’t agree more. GTS is very compromised in my view. Would never swap a Superfast for it even without the $100k depreciation.

    To each their own.
I almost kept the 812SF but I found the 812SF compromised too- to get the full aural ability of the car you had to open the windows where the buffeting was unbearable for any length of time. Not so with the GTS. I live in the NY tristate area and drive top down 9 months of the year( yes I have winter tires for it- and as long as it’s clear roads and no precipitation the top stays down and the heat is up)
Is the GTS compromised? Sure but in ways I am willing to accept and honestly don’t notice- it’s a road car and will never see the track unless it’s to watch. Rough roads don’t make it shake or rattle and the Michelin’s I specced make it stick like glue to the road. I’m also of the age where I don’t need the extra tenth of a second to drag race every boy racer out there.
If I were to track a Ferrari the rear mid engine cars are the way to go.

For some 812SF owners, the GTS compromise is more aesthetic than dynamic. I was certain I’d go for the GTS until I saw it.

I tracked the 812SF once at Road Atlanta and found it far too soft and heavy for track use after racing Radical Cup for 3 years. But on the street, it’s brilliant.

I was just going to ask about what 5e compromise is or are? Makes sense. I actually prefer the look of my GTS over my now sold SF. I think the rear of the car is so much more sorted. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the great news is we can ash get what we love.

Of course everyone has their own opinion and that’s great. Personally I love the idea of an open top but for me living in the UK, the usage is limited. At the same time I find the GTS aesthetic, especially the roof line and the rear not as good looking as the SF. More importantly I put miles on my SF and I love the spaciousness of the interior cabin which you lose on the GTS and mid engine V8 cars. The rear luggage space on the SF makes it work as a GT for me. As for the engine note, it’s true you need to have the windows open on the SF to really appreciate but when I tested a GTS I found the sound similar with the roof down. Just more wind. Personally, and before I’m eaten alive, let me say this is just my opinion, if I wanted a convertible to get engine noise, I wouldn’t buy a front mid engined car. I would by a 458 Spider where the back window comes down and the engine is actually next to your ear lobes and not in front of you as is the case on all 812 variants.

When i was looking for an 812 about a month ago i saw a couple of 812SF sat next to a stunning Verde Scuro 812GTS. It was a hot sunny day here in the UK and the allure of the GTS sat there with the top down was strong although i preferred the 812SF lines especially looking from the rear. Both cars are Ferrari on top of their game but here in the UK for me the SF Coupe makes more sense. In Northern California or the French Riviera the GTS every time.

Same with me. SF looks better and I got a 458S for the top down experience. It’s incredible.

Have you tried lowering the rear shelf to expose the hatchback to the cabin in the SF? The exhaust is right the and so is the diff (hence the heat) and you can get more sound. Won't help with variant that has GFP since the sound is eliminated at the front.
