Here’s a more known Youtuber (650k subscribers) with probably 200 more car reviews under his belt who did “put down hard cash” on a 355 about a year ago… and more recently a Scud. Now if he would’ve called me about 8 years ago and asked me what he should buy, I would’ve saved him quite a bit of test drives . Image Unavailable, Please Login
Guys, guys, guys, we went through this already. I know some thinks it silly but seriously, it is not. Allow me to explain again. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. A ship sea worthiness is only as good as its captain. The 355 value is only as high as as the owner willing to sell it for. Unlike a chain or a ship, 355 owners have control over its value. We have been allowing weekend publications and drive by bloggers to dictate the number for a long time now. Its time to cancel them. It doesn’t matter how many units are still out there, if no one sells, its very rare and thus demands increases overtime Imagine for a minute some of us list our car for sale at around $400k and the rest no sale. Guess what, that number will stick. Why do I think this is possible? It’s because the 355 is the first on many things. Best sound, fist F1 and arguably the most beautiful. It goes on and on. No need for a laundry list. Don’t let weekend publications dictate the 355 value. Ive already listed mine for $400k. If everyone stays inline it will stick. Get with the program is all Im saying.
Definitely sounds like trouble with the Sherman Act. At the end of the day, what do we really care what these things are trading for? I have the car because I enjoy it, not because its appreciating. Nobody is going to meaningfully change their financial wellbeing on the sale of a 355.
Just my observations...… There are lots of people out here who complain a part is too expensive and look for months for an alternative. I will go and check and the price is like $75. Lots of people look to save $25 on a part. Even if it means a questionable item. Many folks enjoy the cars yes but if they can sell them years down the road and recoup all their costs it makes them happy so they hope for 30K appreciation. Personally I get enjoyment working on it, its sunken cost, the value was the work and what I learned. If I "loose" money (what ever that means) in the end, so what, that's not the point for me. However it IS the point for many if not most. I would wager 70% of folks out here hope to enjoy the car, do as little work as possible, sell it and re-gain all they spent including oil changes and tires but that can't happen without appreciation, hence the obsession with it. It's partly why these are bought and sold within a year very frequently. "I had an unexpected repair that cost 2K, time to bail". Also what keeps prices down. Availability. Folks buy the car after wanting it for years, they have retired or got a promotion or what not with excited fan fare posts about it. A year later its for sale. I see it frequently out here.
Boys, this is only the begining. 355s will rise in price and will fetch well over 200k. But of couse, it will be surpassed by its little brother the 348 dude to production numbers. Either way, price is not coming down for either model.
While the market goes up, comes down, goes sideways, I went for a couple nice rides today. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My GTS (Flat_Plane_Eddie’s too) was in the Smoking Tire 355 Video. That car was really the keeper… but having a 2.7 non-fob car has it’s privileges. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Magnus himself told you and flaked on you? I know where he lives. Let’s go get him . Was that 355 running a factory exhaust or what? Missed opportunity on their part to showoff sound on both cars imo.
My GTB has the Forza bypass controller. I see the benefits, but that GTS had the best sound!! https://www.supertweaks.com/ferrari/ferrari-exhausts/ferrari-f355-exhausts/ferrari-f355-forza-componenti-exhaust-bypass-controller/ferrari-f355-exhaust-bypass-valve-controller-remote-kit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
