Calling all Dinosaurs. I've been going through files of a recently acquired Ferrari archive and came across a number of letters from dealers and NY Times clippings from 1970-71. Here are a few of them.

The first is from Alberto Carpanelli in Rome dated 12 Nov 1970; the second is from Rob Box dated 26 January 1971; the third shows various clippings from the Sunday NY Times, early 1971. Grab your Ferrari tack cloth, prepare to read and weep;)

Will do Ken. Can't help you with the time machine, mine crashed in 2020.

If you enjoyed the Kirk White newsletters, I highly recommend you read his memoirs. Check out http://www.dontwashmine.com/ . A great story teller and an incredible character.

You can say that again & again.
My worst decision was deciding between a nearly new 308GTB (Vetrosina mind you) or a 250GTO, which at the time was about half as much again.
    Went for the newer car.

Yet, probably a lot of people continue to make it today, perhaps on daily bases.
Passing on some 10-20 year old model in favor of "the latest", only to find out ramifications of their choice few decades years later. ;)

Playing Monday morning quarterback is easy........but, a 308 vetroresina is a wonderful car. If I was 15 years old again, back in 1981 I'd have rather had a carb Boxer all day long over a GTO or 410 Superfast, etc. You can't go back.......Red Baron did NOT make a mistake. He bought what he wanted, and there's nothing wrong with that regardless of value. (BTW, if I had a nickel for every steel Rolex Paul Newman with an exotica dial that you could buy.......never mind.)
