Do I hear 1.9 seconds anybody? 10 years ago only a handful of cars could get into the mid 3 second territory.

quick car for sure. really shows how insane performance of electric cars is going to be considering the rimac was able to toy with the sf90 D:

Wow congratulations! At the time they launched the car Ferrari said they thought it represented a breakthrough and it sure seems like it.

A petrol car with twice the power would have done the same. It's not because it was electric, but because it has 2000 hp...

Regardless of how fast it is, and it is FAST, I think it's a beautiful car. Saw one in person at the Denver dealership.
    Congratulations.

The constant torque of an electric motor is an advantage at start up - for an ICE engine the gearbox is trying to match the needed (relatively high) engine rev with the initial very low wheels speed... but it would need a very low gear initially, which would need to change very rapidly as speed increases. So it's very hard to make the best of an ICE engine at start up (because unless the gear is very low - requiring an almost immediate gearchange, which is not convenient - to get the engine speed providing some significant power will make the wheels spin instead of tracting...), which is the reason why Tesla can post impressive 0-60 times, benefiting from the initial advantage of the electric engine.
Power being the product of torque by speed, an ICE engine (which has almost zero torque at low rev) has very little power at low speed, so it needs more speed but then unless the gearbox is ultra-short it translates into too much speed at the wheels, which lose traction and prevent a good launch.
Smart management of the electric and ICE motors can be efficient on a hybrid car, and I guess that's what has been achieved with the SF90.

All these cars have way too much power and toque and are traction limited.

Yes from fow. Just a awesome group of people at fow from the GM down.

I always go to speed and tech motoring, they do a wonderful job. You also have glaswerks, Designo, exotic vehicle wraps and some others to choose from.

The manettino looks like it’s in Race but the upshifts all seem to be automatic - his hands are not moving. I’m sure the Pista and prior cars only do the auto-upshift in Sport and not in Race. Didn’t realise this about the SF90.

To me, even more amazing is this timed lap by the SF90 at Indy this weekend. Smoking fast. As you can see from the video, it’s roughly a 1:29. And the last couple of corners were a bit….not optimal. So this could have been in the low 1:28s

In Challenge Evo cars, the lap record was 1:25.9 roughly. And that was done once. Usually coming very close to 1:26 flat.

If you have ever looked at Fiorano times, the 488 Challenge Evo can post a time in the 1:15.5, which is about 1 second slower than an FXX-K. That is amazing. A LaFerrari does it in 1:19.7…..the Challenge and XX cars are track cars.

For the SF90 to perform with a timed lap like this is fantastic. That close to the Challenge Evo on the Indy road course.

Okay take that Tesla people for talking about straight line = racing is faster than everything.

No matter the mode, Sport, Race, CT OFF etc. If you use LC, a 458, 488, F8 and Pista will shift automatically. Doubt very much the SF90 is different.
