Same prob from 1st day then a 4 day drive,all good then same shoit,,,,lack of spark resulting in car stop!
as Ian and i have said , there is lot to be said for having good old points and a coil in a classic car ,most times you can get it going ...at a cost compared to the huge benefits a modern system offers .
It has a coil but the standard igmod has been changed to an a/m one. Gizz tried a couple of others to no avail . All to do now is to get drunk st my pub for the night!
Simon, make sure it's the correct type of coil. Experience had with a 246 that had a Magnetti coil with external resistor fitted. When the after market electronic ignition required the other type of coil.
Nothing wrong with the coil KK as it was new and I had a spare new one I fitted when I was having the prob. Even the Gizzman sez so!
