1.38 dollars to the pound, I’m not seeing the advantage.

What the VAT is, depends on what country you are in. Germany is 16% for example where,Denmark is 25%. If you buy it in the UK, you will have to pay UK VAT, but if in the EU, you pay VAT in the country you are in and not the UK.

So did sell slightly higher than expected, but no doubt that colour did not help one bit. Am I completely off my rocks saying it would have sold for about 15% higher had it been red?

i guess there is a commission on top of the million pounds, so likely 10%, to bring the total for the buyer of 1.1 mil pounds, which at todays exchange rate comes to 1.276 million euros.

No buyers fees at all on that site, the seller pays 5% plus vat but as they are one of his sponsors I imagine he got a better rate than that.

Toppy price and I agree the recent standard red one was a far better buy, but well done to Sam

I think that may be the first million pound F40 to openly sell in the UK since the 90s?

I don’t think he owns all of these cars anymore. I remember the TDF was auctioned at the Riyadh Car Show in november 2019. The 458 SA at the RM Sotebys Open Roads auction march 2021. I don’t know about the FF and the LaF

i dont know what your definition of 'openly sell' might be, but quite a few F40's have sold at 1 million pounds plus in the uk in the last couple years.

Publically known sale price then, I don't recall any being advertised for greater than £1 million, do you have any links to those you know of you can post up?

i dont keep records of past sales, however i am constantly trolling thru classic driver, piston heads, etc and i have seen several cars in the uk from the likes of DK, asking 1 mil or close to that, and they are no longer there.....

DK never list an asking price, so difficult to know what they have actually sold for, auctions are the only true marker of actual sale price (rather than advertised asking prices), I am not aware of any UK based F40s that have sold at auction yet for over £1 million like Sams now has.

I think if you look at the F40's sold by DK and Tom Hartley Jnr, its quite obvious that many of them do sell for over GBP 1mil.

This guy must be a genius, just a photographer and can afford a F40.

Wasn't it reduced to 16% during Covid?

Flavio, that was a pun, his family ran a lottery type syndicate called the football "pools" in the UK as well as many other big businesses, I imagine photography is a hobby business rather than funding the purchase of such a car.
