Morning gents.....the car started giving me the dreaded "clicking" sound a couple of weeks ago. Took it to my indy this week and he confirmed that I am getting signs / sounds of an early stage failure. He thinks I should be fine for another 2-3K miles. but I am thinking of replacing proactively, to avoid the obvious worse issues should they fail.

Anyway, he is recommending the Tubi's as a replacement, as they come wrapped, high quality, etc. I did some searching on the boards, but curious if anyone here has any "recent experience" doing so on a 430? if so, pleased with the results? thanks in advance!

I have the Capristo manifolds with insulation blankets, very good but not cheap. Consider the manifolds from the 430 scud, a lot cheaper than the oem 430 coupe ones

scud manifolds arent immune from cracking (mine did). the tubi and capristio headers are the top of the line for the 430. if you want good value go for the challenge car headers form eurospares:

RichardCH i believe had a set of capristo headers crack on him (he has had a number of setups but i think im accurate) but capristo headers cracking is rare. the one reason i didnt go tubi was because i dont like the tubi muffler on the 430.
    tubi makes great stuff.

My Indy is telling me he has had great experience with the Tubi headers, so while expensive, I am leaning that direction. I am leaving the muffler set up as is, as I love the sound. He's telling me that just changing out the headers should cause no to little change in the sound, so hopeful that is the case. Anyway, the clicking sound just started last week, so I am going to get the headers ordered, as he let me know that Italy going to be shutdown for the month of August. Annual service is scheduled for November, so will likely handle all at once at that point.
    Thanks for the feedback.

I would be surprised if a carpisto cracked, they are made from T 309 ( used in gas turbines) and a work of pure art. I think they carry a lifetime warranty to the original buyer.

Richard texted me. His capristos did not crack.it was a broken bolt and his headers are for sale if anyone wants them.

Thats a good price- the dealers say to fit new studs and nuts when changing manifolds. Very cheap parts as well

OK that is good to hear! Hoping the Tubi's have the same non-impact I am a "novice" mechanical wise, and frankly do not even know what headers do. I just know that I need them!

While ur doing the headers i wld consider 200 cel cats. That will enhance the sound bigtime.

They collect the gas from the cylinder heads and discharge it into the cat converters. Look on eurospares uk web site for the exhaust system diagram

I would be surprised if any aftermarket header didn't increase the volume. My challenge headers certainly did. Maybe only 15% though. Removal of any cat will bump the volume. Cats are pretty effective mufflers.

My Agency Power headers gave the car a low growl sound that i never liked. I imagine they all do because of no cats built into them

How do you find the AP headers to the power band? Does it shift around from stock? I know stock pulls pretty consistently to redline.

I hope that’s the case with mine too. Im getting capristo manifold installed in next few weeks. Currently I have MK2 headers and stock exhaust and it is more than loud enough for me already.

Dont the stock headers have precats in the them? Aftermarket doesnt so id be shocked if there is no change in volume.

Just confirmed oem headers have precats. No way the sound will stay the same.
