Totally different car But actual weight of my C8 coupe was 3,661 pounds. I wouldn’t expect the Z06 to be noticeably heavier than the regular model. I traded that for a C8 convertible but have not weighed the convertible yet. For comparison: F430 Spider weighs 3,539. 812SF weighs 4,011. ALL WEIGHTS ARE WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS.
Same powertrain as T.50 but in a two seat configuration with more conventional aero (no fan). 100 units and still over £1M ($1.4M). From: https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/354950/new-gordon-murray-project-two-supercar-sit-below-t50
So sorry about that. I notice it too and I tried to delete my post but the website will not let me because it's beyond the allowed 20 minutes time frame. My apology ;-(
I know... what a sound @ 12,100 rpm!!! Its sounds a lot better than the current Formula One cars today It reminds me of the Formula 1 cars sound during the Schumi era......
Not only that, but it gains revs at a rate of 28,400 revs per second so only takes 0.3s to go from idle to 12,100 rpm. Cosworth is also making the Valkyrie engine, which is similar in sound but it's 6.5L vs 4L for the T50 and the Valkyrie revs at 11.1k max so the T50 wins this one imo.
The T.50s Niki Lauda will have (as an option) a new exhaust system that will only be allowed on certain circuits, which according to Murray "sounds like it revs at the double". I think that the T.50s Niki Lauda is going to sound insane!
I want to love this car, but find the proportions all off, I just watched this video and I hate to say it but it looks like a Chinese knock-off of a McLaren F1.
Just as well it sounds good and drives well because it sure doesn't have much else going for it in the looks department.
From the footage it doesn't sound as insane as the Valkyrie. But Valkyrie in development stage also sounded inferior compared to the car shown in Goodwood. Hopefully it will have some great engine tunes in the production version. I really like the central driver position, the same reason I love F1. But I agree, it is not a good looking car. It is even less attractive than the 296 and it is a low bar to pass.
