The 5 grid place penalty for Bottas is a joke. Speeding in the pit lane is a worse infraction than wrecking someone in a 180mph corner or running into everyone like a bowling ball at a start. They both should have gotten a 1 race ban. Plain and simple. Then Lewis had the balls to complain about dangerous driving from Alonso.

Didn’t grosjean get a 1 race ban for spa 2012? Or did he already have penalty points on his license?

Mercedes literally crashes their competition out of both championship leads. When did we become nascar?

Penalty is issued independent of consequence. All teams agree'd to this. Be careful what you wish for. The penalty is what is in the rules. So now we want MOB rule because our favorite driver is impacted or team. Sorry not how F1 works. Its quite open how this all works. Research and education will help you understand your sport. When teams agree to change maybe we can arrest drivers for Marko and have them in jail. Until then.........it is what it is.

Speeding in the pitlane - stop go 10sec.

Mercs take out competitors - 10sec and 5p grid drop.

Better to be lucky than good.

Probably having a panic attack thinking back to battling Alonso and losing the win, either that or the vegan diet is starting to take it's toll.

Can't believe even Toto was defending that move, he's driving around on a dry track FFS. Use your noggin and box!

That's how Button often used to beat Hamilton, he's in a different timezone race brain wise.

Bottas is out apologizing to the other drivers. Offers no excuse. Admits error. Not all drivers are so open. I would think he did not help his cause to retain his seat possibly.

Ocon has great words for FA. Mellowed with age but still a tough man on the track.

    Holy chaos, Batman!!

Paint a couple of Red Bulls on Bottas' car.
Five spot penalty is what you'd get for blocking in quali, much less taking out three cars in the first corner.

In an earlier age, such a chaotic start would cause the race to be instantly stopped, the drivers recalled to the grid, the T-cars rolled out, and do-over start.
I remember a Monaco GP where they ran the start four times before they got through turn one without chaos.

Max's car hurt bad. Not as long a red flag as Merc had at Silverstone.

    Then the one car grid?

Those who campaign for a "reversed grid" should look at this race harder.
Latifi holding up the entire parade.
It's one thing to get close to the car ahead of you, but if he's close to the car ahead of him, there's no room in front of the car you want to pass.
    Nobody passes in a parade.

Once again, Ham insulated from the consequences of his mistakes.
Anyone catch the transmission, "more power" before Ham got around Alonso?
The pace at which Ham repeatedly recovers from the back of the field makes it look like Ham's car has more power than the rest of the grid -- including the other Merc.
    "Party mode"
(Heck, Ham gained seven seconds on the leaders in just three laps?)

    F1 is looking scripted.

The only surprise in this race is that Alonso held up Ham just enough to keep Ham from winning.

I was dumbfounded at a later team radio.

At one point he thought he saw the pit walk sign with 43....thought he was on lap 43 and didn't realize it was 43 laps remaining.

    Seriously?

Hamilton is really fast but is really bad at reading the races, he should have insisted to come in, also Mercedes chocked letting him out.

Bottas is a clean driver, he made a mistake and ruined max race but there is no need to insult him.

Very few drivers can contain lewis like Alonso did and doing it cleanly.

Interesting race again. Lucky Lewis strikes again.

Bottas as usual in the role as "usefull idiot". This time, as in Imola, by torpedoing himself into a competitor, taking out Max in the proces.

This championship so far is determined by luck and mistakes. Mercedes having and making plenty of both, and both are costing Max points.

With the current logic of penalties Perez needs to torpedo Hamilton at Spa.

Or to make it less obvious, maybe Tsunoda should do that. He's a rookie, he'll get away with anything. :)

Always been a massive flaw for him, along with being the worst driver I've ever seen at safety car restarts.

He's like a baby, unless mummy gives him the milk he would never find the tit.

Exactly. This is two races in a row for Max to drive in this fashion. Super Licence points must be applied!
I'm going with clever use of sarcasm in the above.
