Oh man, how I love the Deep Sea Dweller and would love to pick one up as well. I know you mentioned your original budget was 6K for a watch, but assuming you doubled that budget for this. @flat_plane_eddie would you mind PM'ing me a price for this model?

I went well outside the budget, but it's worth it.

Been thinking about one of these...but aren't they much bigger that the reg 40mm sub? While my wrist is a tad oversized, I found with, say, a PAM088 I once had, I kept hitting door frames with it (I guess I'm a spaz).

They are much bigger, but my last daily was a 50mm U-Boat, so it almost feels tiny to me. It's all in what you're used to. Regular Subs feel like a toy to me.

There's only one Rolex - a steel Daytona ;) (I miss the ceramic bezel though )
Bought this one new at Paris airport duty free some years ago (it was a lucky move I guess)

Congrats on your great taste and purchase!

Budgets are meant to be blown and a purchase should give the feeling of joy and achievement.
If we end up spending more than expected, we will only have to work a little more and eat a little less caviar in life.

Wear it well and enjoy the feeling.
My first Rolex (and only) is also a Deep Sea Dweller and I love it the same today as the day my wife gave it to me.

Why isn’t the premium for the insurance linear?

    A no-deductible $60k watch is $1020, and two $30k watches are $700 for both.

JM is still, by far, the best deal out there.
