Ok, I installed Radenso system in my 458. But for my F8, I have used my Valentine One. But the power adapter connects under my right elbow in the center console. The cord going up to the visor is not optimal. My Escorts all have the suction cup windshield mount, which never works for long. My 911 Turbo and my SL 63 AMG had power in the left passenger area, that was convenient. I would love a visor mount Valentine with battery power, but I do not think they make one. What are you all using? Am I missing a good option other than the built in? I will probably do another Radenso install at some point, but for now I need a portable option.

I use the stock valentine visor mount and the straight (not coiled) cord up behind the seats, tucked into a bit of headliner seam and then forward to the visor.

Well, this is what I did in my 430, Tool Time Tim style suction cup bracket behind seat, or could be centered on the rear glass. The bracket had an adapter that fit the V1. Power was from a fuse tap behind the passenger seat. Not sure where to tap on an F8, or you could still run the plug to the cigarette lighter as the power cord goes behind you.

Another option I use in my MB, is to use a bracket that has double sided tape that I position to the right of the mirror. There are different ones to match different detectors, eg escort, V1, V1 gen 2, Been using it for over a year and it doesn’t fall off like the OEM

I don't recommend using a windshield mounted radar detector in the F8. I attempted that and under spirited driving it fell off and dented my dashboard leather and nearly scratched the carbon fiber inserts. Not worth it! Go for a custom solution or another mounting option.

If you are referring to a battery-powered detector, they are nearly worthless. By the time the signal is received, you're caught.

Which blendmount did you get? I don't see an option for the F8.

    Thanks.

I called them because I didn't see it either, they said that the 3032 is the proper one for the F8, that is the one I ordered, I will see how it fits.

Problem with that is you can’t pull it down quickly if you are in fact pulled over.

Consider yourself lucky. If you often drive over the limit, you're better off with the 12V versions. From what I've read and heard, battery operated detectors have reduced range.

Are there any models with a rechargeable battery?

Sorry, I don't know. I imagine if they run on AA batteries that any rechargeable would work.

I recently did some searching/researching, thinking that surely someone would’ve built a much better battery-powered detector in the last decade.

Turns out: nope. At least the decision is simple: hardwire.

I didn't even have a chance to try it out as the breaks were not working properly on my car. It was trucked back to the dealer and is still there, I will try it outf once the car comes home, sorry for the delay.

This year I purchased both the Radenso and second version of Valentine one.
V1 is better but using the app is a must to avoid tons of false alarms.

No, just the windshield mounted one. It works well and the gps lockout feature is great at keeping the unit quiet. However, the V1 Gen 2 seems to have better range and the directional arrows are something I’ve become accustomed to over the decades. I bought the new V1 after the Radenso and initially hated it because of all the false alarms, but someone here clued me in on the mandatory use of the iPhone app to get the gps lockouts going. That made a HUGE difference.
