I like the looks of this car from pictures and I'd like to see it in person. I would do for a Targa or Spider but really don't see how this slots above an F8. The F8 doesn't offer enough for me to give up my 458 Spider.

It slots slightly above with 110 more horsepower

But the F8 is already 150 hp more than a 458 - clearly someone sticking to a 458 does not see (understand?) the appeal of more power (it's an individual standpoint - for me the 100 hp more of the 488 were what made the difference).

It's not all about horsepower. I have an 812 too and drive the 458 more. I drive my Porsche's even more than the Ferrari's. I like the looks of the 296 but so far I'm not seeing the value (if such a thing exists with any Ferrari).

Whilst I agree in some respects…. I also disagree in others.

I too have have Porsches and have had nearly every RS made.

I am hanging for my manual Touring next too.

Having stated this, the power and handling of my Pista is next level…. If only it sounded like a GT3!!

From what I can gauge with the 296, the shorter wheel base and work on the sound coupled with the power will be next level.

Needless to say, I am 100% committed to getting a 296 as soon as humanly possible!

May the Horse be with you

It looks promising. The rear certainly looks different and why would they have this car in super camo and the red one with very light camo?

Curved roofline instead of the angled edge where roof and screen meet. Could well be a gts.

Wow, I hope the shape of the windows will stay rounded. I hate that boxy shape of the coupe version.

The spy pics give clues that point to a spider not a targa
Hope they've improved chassis rigidity closer to a carbon tub car

Take a look at 1:40 and you will get a pretty good clue how the spider top will look and work. The roof divides into two pieces that nest on top of one another upside down over the engine with one sliding behind the rear seats (above where the battery goes). Because the engine is so low in this car, they fit under the rear deck and not look like a giant bulge. This also allows some glass to expose part of the engine and gearbox.

This picture taken and posted by @Cearabc last year—and which was causing some dissonance about actual roof design—is obviously the spider version. With the absence of the “visor” windshield, you can see the A-pillars will be body color.

Intake I don’t think will be different from the coupe. In fact here it’s camo’d with the same panels as used on the coupe mules (probably a splash of the SF90S) and panel is sharply cut vertically at the door, unlike what was done on the coupe (dashed line).

The visor windshield is what i detest the most. Thats why i just pass and dont look at any Koenigsegg cars. Wish it had the 2 tail pipes again something i detested about the 458

The Stratos did the visor best with the cylindrical windshield. After that, nobody came close and nobody should try it again unless they’re willing to commit to a cylindrical section windshield.

Exhaust is ok with a small attempt to split the opening in two ;). Maybe they’re saving the dual exhaust for the VS version.

Well they did split it with the Speciale :) I just dont think any exhaust should be surrounded by a painted part.
