Friday night is cruise night on Ocean Ave in Carmel. In 2019 I saw a couple of Saudis park their McClaren P1 in front of the library while I was sitting on a park bench smoking a cigar. Then I saw a guy drive by in his Ferrari 250 GTO.

The cops lie in wait for guys who speed through the tunnel in Monterey. I did it in 1999 with my 348, in 2008 with my Kawasaki Z1000, and in 2019 with my 550. So I’m one of those crazies.

Vloggers and YouTubers with absolutely no connection to the major events doing burnouts on Pacific Avenue in the evenings with the sidewalks packed.

Does anyone know if there's a special marque or category for the Ferrari Concorso on the first fairway this year? In the past its been a broad category such as "competition cars" or "roadsters"

Get ready to mask up next week. Nearly all Bay Area counties have now adopted mandatory indoor masking regardless of vaccination status. Some businesses have also adopted proof-of-vaccination for entry. Monterey county usually follows the Bay Area by no more than a week or two. Local positivity rate has jumped significantly in just the last few weeks due to Delta variant spread amongst both the unvaccinated and vaccinated.

    For The Quail:

Quail mask rules. “Masks are recommended indoors for all vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, but required in Culinary Pavilions and outside ancillary food and beverage areas on the event field. We encourage all guests to wear face masks when appropriate and multiple sanitizing stations will be available throughout the event field. Please note, all event staff will be wearing masks for your safety as well as our staff's safety.”

So chances of many or all events getting cancelled by next week appear (again*) very real, if not more and proving (once again) G. Carlin's apt observation about the stupidity of general public.

    * And just as I got my car prepped/serviced and ready for the adventure. :(

I really don't think anything will get cancelled at this late stage, but some places could restrict indoor attendance if things get noticeably worse over the next week. I just think that the county may make masking indoors required for all people instead of the current optional-for-vaccinated.

I've started to see the first transporters arriving in Pebble. Scary sight to come around a corner and see one of those taking up their lane and at least half of the oncoming lane...time to alter my Pebble Beach entry/exit route!

The SP2 will be shown in Carmel on Thursday in a little 10-car show with some old Monzas, and then certainly be part of the 75 car parade Sat., ending at Casa Ferrari in PB about 500 ft. from the Lodge. You wonder why they need to show if all 499 are sold...
