Want to upgrade my 458 to get a better sound. Not too concerned with improving performance the car is already amazing. Are there any muffler only systems or another simple system I can buy and easily install myself by only taking off the rear diffuser and not having to go through the hassle of removing the rear bumper etc?

I think all the installs for exhaust only systems (IE no cats or headers) by pretty much all manufacturers will be the same process. Think it is doable with just the rear diffuser but you'll want to lift the car reasonably high to get clearance. I've heard the bumper removal isn't too bad and makes it easier, so may be worth just doing it anyways

I installed akrapovic titanium catback set with 200 cel cats and did it at my garage. What you need is a good lift so that you can stand under the car and operate in a good position.

You need to remove first the diffuser. Very easy and quick to do. But I really recommend of removing the rear bumper too. One hour job. To do it, take off rear wheels. Then wheel liners. Now you have access to everywhere and you can remove rear bumper. It was easier to do in 458 than in 360.

Just go for it. If an Italian can do it, so can you =D Service manual has instructions on how to remove everything.

Did your 200 cats through a error? I’m thinking of doing it if there is no error.

I did Fabspeed headers and IPE 200 cel cats and exhaust in my garage as well. It's really nothing but removing and installing a bunch of fasteners. Most are super easy, with about 6 of them (header related) that are a *****. Removal of the rear bumper cover is maybe 6 or 8 fasteners and it comes right off. My 200 cel cats have not thrown any errors, but IPE adds a mini-cat into the O2 sensor bung for added insurance. It definitely smells like it could throw a CEL, so the mini-cat must be doing it's job. Not nearly as obnoxious as a full cat delete, but more smelly than stock.

I have an Akrapovic unit that plugs into the OBD-port and clears exhaust related errors.
