I feels these are all milddle of the road. Ferrari has to go super curvey retro or something new and exciting.

I aint no expert, but this doesn't sound like a 12 to me... (158) FERRARI PUROSANGUE SUV GOING CRAZY ON THE RACETRACK - Acceleration, powerslides & more! - YouTube
Really? Don't get me wrong...I hope it is a 12, but at the 1:20+ mark that sounds V8 turbo to me. It definitely doesn't sound anywhere close to my F12. ...but like I said...I aint no expert.
I just watched a Couple of utube Vid on both the Lusso (V12) and the Lusso T (V8TT) for a direct reference. Gotta say I have heard both those different sound from different spy videos of the FUV. It's looking like there is a V8 and a V12 version. So the rumour is correct
During the acceleration I can identify on the video a higher frequency sound identical to the one I hear on my F12 but just by the sound is very difficult to guarantee that engine is a V12. According with Maranello's experienced spotter that spotted first the Purosangue mule with the test plate number XOPC 8171, the engine distinctly sounded like a Ferrari V12. Because the Purosangue will be having different motorizations and there are at least two mules going around, it is likely that Ferrari is testing the different engine alternatives.
IIRC @day355 already confirmed a V12 option in one of these threads. And he has never been wrong yet.
Alberto... [The italian gesture consisting of making small circles with the hand, wich means "Of high level"]
Unless the V12 is really small (4.0L or less), how could it fit in that bonnet? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login more likely V6 from 296GTB that is "sounding like" a V12... @day355 also said the "new V12" for 812 successor is bigger displacement, so maybe Ferrari will have 2 new V12s...one super small (for FUV) and one mega large...
Nothing sounds like a V12. Except a V12. The driver of the purosangue mule is sitting further back than the Levante bodywork would suggest (and the steering wheel is at a very odd angle) so it’s possible that the V12 will fit.
Contrary to popular belief, the displacement of the engine has no influence of the size of the engine (Among the same layout). I mean you can have a 5.0 V12 bigger and heavier than a 7.0 V12 It depends on the angle of the cylinder banks, the intake shape, the material used , NA or FI etc...
I said "Among the same layout" . For sure a V8 is is smaller than a V12 I wanted to say that a 4.0 V8 is not necessarily smaller than a 5.0 V8, for exemple The best proof is that when you put a stroker kit on an engine, the external size remain exactly the same So when you say "Unless the V12 is really small (4.0L or less), how could it fit in that bonnet?" it's not correct, since the fact that the V12 has a smaller displacement than the current 6.5 doesn't mean that the engine is smaller...or, more precisely, takes less place under the bonnet , since that was the thing that you were questioning
It has been confirmed that the Purosangue will be fitted with a V12 (and could most probably be derived from the 812), and with a V8TT+hybridation.
I wish we could move on regarding speculating about V12 in Purosangue—this issue has been laid to rest by those with inside knowledge. No need to keep questioning it IMO.
