Yup
I remember a picture from their website showing a F355 on original calipers but with carbon ceramic discs! I also remember that their main product was a CCB kit for Lotus Elise/Exige. Unfortunately I have a bad memory and don't remember the name of the company....
Brembo 209.9004A This is the part number for 380x29 Brembo CC rotors. These with hats to fit the 355 and then sort out caliper options. Kit would probably be around $30k using new parts. The ideal solution would utilize some rotors off a mass produced car though which would cut costs essentially in half.
If I'm not mistaken, factory PCCB from 997 GT3/RS's are the following size: (380 x 34 mm - Front / 350 x 28 mm - Rear) Wonder if those could be made to fit our cars.
To test out...could buy a set of CCB calipers and iron rotors to keep cost down. Then swap to ceramics once everything is confirmed to fit. Or just keep the irons...380/350mm setup is great either way...but at least you know you can swap to ceramics should you choose.
Freno Carbon Brakes? http://frenocarbon.com/news/ https://www.lotustalk.com/threads/drs-now-has-carbon-fiber-brakes.168465/page-2
No. I still have the picture in my mind (a blue F355 without the wheel clearly showing the CC disk). The company looked like something like a startup, and although showing off this F355 equipped with the CC disk, in the product list there were only prices for the Lotus kits. I'm trying to google "Carbon-Keramikbremse" plus "F355" but can't find it again.
Not quite as big but the calipers say Ferrari on them at least. http://www.formuladynamics.com/products/f355_brembo_bbk/f355_brembo_bbk.php Tarox is another. https://www.occsport.com/en/discos-sport/169353-kit-freno-sobredimensionado-deltantero-ferrari-f355-all-models-super-sport.html Sent using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Priced at $7k, which is higher than what I quoted here, only 332mm sized rotor (which Brembo already offers), not a GT (F40/F50) caliper. Logo is a non-issue. It’s a sticker that is easily removed and you can put pretty much whatever you want. In short, not many choices out there.
As a note to consider, you can’t get 20% off Brembo anywhere unless RT is sponsoring you for marketing reasons. I already did all the leg work/negotiating to put us in this position. We’re talking Brembos here gentlemen. Some of these other brands couldn’t pay me to put their stuff on my car. I’d consider a non-Brembo carbon ceramic rotor (although my buddy warned most are junk and a liability) onto a Brembo caliper, but that’s as far as I’d go. Doesn’t seem like anyone is offering anything anymore anyways.
So, why the preference to go 4 pot up front instead of 6 pot? Wheel fitment? I'm all for an upgrade but want to run the factory wheels and challenge speedlines only. If the 6 pots fit, I don't see the reason to for a custom set up I guess.
Many reasons, but mostly personal preference. I’ve looked at many setups over the years. 6-pot F/4-pot R, I suspect might have a bit too much front bias. They have a 4-pot/332mm all around, but the next option is 6-pot/4-pot 355mm, which is a pretty big jump. Guys in Japan and possibly Europe have ran F40/F50 4-pot 355mm all around perfectly fine for years. 355 challenge, although a race caliper is also 4-pot 355mm all around. My personal preference for the 355 is same caliper front and rear. It’s either a 4-pot all the way around or a 6-pot all the way around. 4-pot will be a lighter setup. Brembo offers the 6 pot in 2 versions … GT and GT-S and they are virtually the same price. However, the GT-S is much better than the GT. Comes with stainless steel pistons. BUT, the GT-S only comes in 1 color. You can’t paint it either because the Brembo logo is engraved. On a side note, I think the 4-pot 332mm is just fine as well (although Type-3 rotor is only available in 355mm) for the streets. However, I prefer to start from 355mm and have the option to move down to a 332mm if I want. The way Brembo has it setup currently, if you start from a 332mm, you cant move up to a 355mm without caliper and mounting bracket changes. At the moment, a 4-pot 332mm setup all around setup is $7200, with no option to move to a 355mm. I’m presenting to you guys a once in a lifetime opportunity to get a 4-pot/355mm setup with the flexibility to move to a 332mm setup for $6300.

… to add, if you go 6-pot, moving down to 332mm rotor (for reduced weight) is not an option. Only a 4-pot gives you the flexibility to move between 355mm and 332mm.
This is super tempting, but what happens with the rear parking brakes when moving to a 2 piece rotor setup?
I'm game for the 355mm setup...just want to exhaust all options if we can on a larger setup to tuck into 18" challenge wheels. I emailed Giro disc regarding retrofitting 997 PCCB's with 355 hats on the ceramic rotors and adapters for the calipers. Totally stupid overkill but even if they work with my 19" PG3's I'd probably still do it. . They're not too far from where I am so I could have my car taken to them if they're up for it.

Isn't that a members car here? I've had these wheels for like 5 years. Hunted for them before I even got my first 355. Just love the era correct wheel look personally haha
