Maybe some of you know of some tracks where a 430 will hit 150 at the end of the main straight . . .
Other than Bonneville, probably Brainerd or maybe Sebring? Both of them are pretty dang close to a mile. VIR is only 4k/3k for the front/back straights. COTA is crazy short by comparison (.62 mile).
Willow Springs on the big track. Turn 8-9 are 140 mph turns. The front straightaway is right after turn 9. I just bought a Pro Mazda for a track car and haven’t got the guts to go on the big track yet. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Ive been hitting it here at Autoclub Speedway this weekend. Front banking almost a mile. Then you decide what brake marker you want ; then float the car then set it into banking. 150-160.
The road in front of my house Road America has a pretty long straight. I would be surprised if it couldn't be done there. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Back straight cota amg driving academy — 150+ amg gts circa 2016…. Not hard to do. just need good brakes!!!
BIR, if you're brave through the banked turn and keep your foot on the pedal through the straight before some hard braking. I got near 140 in my 360 but I lacked courage to push it any harder.
Brainerd (BIR) as stated. The long course (Donnybrook, 3.1miles) specifically. The front straight is just under a mile, with a banked turn 1, IIRC, Still considered the fastest turn 1 in North America. I've been just under 200mph on that track before checking up into 1. I've personally witnessed speeds WELL over 200 on that track (IndyCar, only car on track at the time) RA has a long front straight, but is uphill for about 1/3 of it. Sebring is prob doable on the front, but you'll need a decent run out of 17 (brutal corner) to hit 150 in the 430 I think
Go 80 on the highway and put your foot to the floor for 10-12 seconds. Done. Tracks - VIR, Road Atlanta, Road America, Roebling Road, Sebring, etc. Lots of place if you are on it.
Its the tall gearing that doesn’t help trying to get 150+ . (8200 rpm in 5th gear going around the roval is close to heaven)
Watkins Glen out of the Esses into the Back Straight. My 360 gets heavy into 5th. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Depending how good you exit turn 11 at Circle the Americas, might be able to hit that on the back straight.
too bad you didnt ask this question a year ago or so.....coz there were plenty of places to get that speed done close to home..... or so i have been told
Okay Gents, I did it! (And it was completely legal.) 165 mph today at the Texas Mile. The organizers rent out an airport runway one or two weekends per year, and you've got one mile, from a standing start. It was a lot of fun, and I recommend.
