I reported the seller to ebay... still waiting to see some action taken (ie the listings removed / account suspended)

I have little confidence that eBay will do much to protect the public going forward. Now days, they are allowing algorithms to make all the decisions and their low level front line people do not seem to have much decision authority.

the guy in the ID is a picture of the conman. I’ve actually made contact with the real Alexander Duce, also the real owners of the property the fraudster says he lives in. It’s shameful that the U.K. police force are totally incompetent.

You hit the nail on the head. eBay are unwittingly facilitating this fraud activity. They could easily stop it if they could get out of the oil tanker mode they are currently in.

Forget eBay and the police, how is it possible he hasn’t scammed the wrong guy with unsavory type connections that has caught up with him and done some severe bodily harm? It’s coming… just a matter of time.

He has a voice that goes with how he looks if it is him then. He comes across to me as a bit of the silver spoon type that maybe didn’t turn out to be the son mummy and daddy wanted.

he is using a new mobile number now

If the picture in the photo is him would it not be wise to start something on Facebook? Someone will know him and eventually someone will grass him up.

also is anyone in 4chan? Just send the numbers to them his phone won’t stop and he won’t be able to scam people

    @Rob Wylie

From your previous posts it appears you have done a lot of investigating / research regarding this fraudster... is there anything you can share with us publicly about him, for example how do you know the photo on the Driving License is the guy we would of been talking to on the phone, is Alexander Duce his real name etc

You could be the fraudster or an associate of the fraudster?

I suppose I could be despite posting here to report how I was a victim and at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6287910/scam-alexander-duce-abbey-investment-holdings-macbook-air-pro/p1 to try and make people aware and not to fall for it (Hoping that if people type his name into google then it would come near the top, as like I said, I missed this post when I typed his name into google, if I had seen it, I could of avoided it myself).

Im mainly thinking as to why the fraudster would give his real photo on the driving license... as you suggest thats him (or is it a process of elimination... ie the real Alexander Duce is NOT that photo, so you assume it was him). Main reason for enquiring is... if we knew that was a picture on the conman, then a) it's something that could be handed to the police, b) people such as 4chan, reddit, facebook etc... could possibly find out more info about him based on the photo if it is actually him.

Hope that makes sense... I understand your scepticism, I would like to be able to get some justice rather than letting him go scott free and carry on scamming other people.

I think the answer as to why he puts his real photo on the driving licence is because he clearly lives his life through the stolen identify. It is impossible to stop identity fraud once it’s started. You just have to look at the invoices he sent us both. Two different bank accounts on 2 separate days. One was a Lloyds and one a nationwide, I wouldn’t be surprised if he managed to open these legitimately using stolen identity.

I was thinking something like Rip off Britain might be interested in investigating him. They certainly have the resources to do it.

Remember there was a guy on here (I forget his name, it may have been Sid) who lived in London. When a US member was scammed for an expensive book, Sid paid the scammer a visit and got all the money back. Unfortunately Sid was permanently banned for something.

Cash on collection should be the tact with this guy...with a posse of victims waiting at the designated location to enquire about their lost funds...

I wasn’t completely stupid. I paid on credit card and I already have been refunded for everything I lost, so I’m not salty about the money.

This is a Ferrari chat forum, and it sounds like he managed to swindle someone wealthy enough to buy a Ferrari. I am surprised a private investigator hasn’t been involved at some point a long the way.
