Didn't love the reviewer in the red shirt, maybe because he draws his conclusions without personal experience. When you move beyond the bias imparted from all the reviews of these cars through the years, the conclusion is foregone. I would suggest that the vast majority of sports car enthusiasts who drive these 2 back to back come to the same result, and without second thought. Obviously there is more that goes into a purchase decision, but for pure fun/dollar, it isn't that close. I was the guy in the Scud back in the day, enamored with the CS based on all the literature. Since I did this comparison, not for one day have I had any desire for a CS, although YRMV.

Yeah, the 458 is quite refined (we are using these words only in comparison of this class of car obviously), maybe numb a better description. The Scud gearbox is amazing, precisely due to the brutality of the shift at full throttle. It's not clunky, there's a lightning quick manual shift"ness" to the experience that expresses itself as a thud (not to be confused with a clunk :)). Don't envision myself ever tick tick ticking around in a DCT. Gated shifting for me with one exception, the Scud.

In the end, all of this is just talk. Drive the cars and you'll make the right choice whatever that may be. Back to the OP, not sure there's anything like it for 225k.

this gives me hope. One day I hope to get even money for a scud with my (high-mile) CS. The Scud was/is the preferred car but at the time, I was only able to swing for a CS.
    one day....

Thanks for the nice words but "better" is subjective.
The CS may looks better (matter of opinion, not mine) or has a better ride (again, opinion) but the Scud has stronger engine, suspension, transmission, handling. schumacher contributed to its development. I know it's rarer but a car's production number shouldn't enhance its characteristics

my car pushes 30K miles, rosso something (can never remember), and in Norcal.

To be honest, I may just not trade in the CS. I may just add the Scud if finances allow in the future.

That would mean somewhere around 5000 to 5300 worldwide. They built significantly less than that. Somewhere in between would be a safe answer [emoji23]

1600 in the usa, 300 16ms in the usa...4k total scud and 900 16ms total is my guess. if they were much lower they wld have advertised the **** out of it. thats a fact.

hard to know for sure what the actual number is. But Scuds were offered 08-09, when the world economy was tanking.

The price of a SCUD has had its lows and high. 200-250k. Thats from 2012 till 2021.

But mileage has gone up so its appreciating. I dont care if it stays thesame for 10 more years but its trending up.

Nobody knows how many cars where made but mostly ived gather is 2000 cars.

    Thats not enough for consumers.

Its just going up slowly and if you can hold on with it for another 15 years, you will definitely make money out of it or have a nice collector ferrari in your garage that everyone will envy.

Pre-Covid scuds with low miles were in the 175 range for what it’s worth

I would partly agree with you but 2 years before that, they where $250.

I sold my first one when its high, 08 silver with 12k mi, for more than $200k. And I bought that for $165 from Central NJ.

Then bought my 09 with less miles, red, cpo, for less.

If you plot it, the miles are going up,but pricing has not changed.

How much are f430 coupe right now? 120-140. Thats been how much they are since 2009.Atleast thats how much i bought and sold my 07 f430 red coupe.

Big asking prices - for those on buying side not many taking the bait from what I can see

don’t need one, would like one - High 100/low 200 is my point if nice one shows up great if not won’t lose sleep

From what I read here it seems that virtually everything is up in the US right now - while long term, everything should go up because of generic inflation and rarity mechanically increasing, I suspect there could also be a temporary bubble effect.
While prices are also up in Europe, it seems far more limited.
