F430 aftermkt radio

I just put mine in a month ago or so. I went with the Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX. It's not a pop up screen, but it fits in the space nicely. For me I don't like how the pop up screens block the vents. I installed a backup camera with wireless transmitter and receiver to avoid having to run a wire. I just installed a Kenwood KMM-X704 head unit and love it! My car had the factory HiFi system so I also upgraded the amp with a JL 600/3 from Mike @ Scuderia Audio as well as the speakers and sub. Kinda went nuts but love the quality from the head unit.

I also wondered if that would block the ac registers or controls but I see it’s good to go! Too bad I just bought this single DIN Sony DSX-GS80 as this has apple CarPlay and fits the aesthetic. I was thinking I could forego a screen and go for this powerful 45W per channel RMS Sony and replace the garbage factory speakers with some focal K2power series if I don’t need to supplant the system with another amplifier.

prob with flip screen is that it looks year 2000

 

the radio in my 430 works, but the amp and speakers are shot.
but its no big deal since the car is usually so damn loud i dont hear anything anyway !

 

I hear this on almost a daily basis.

 

I had the entire audio system rebuilt in my F430 but it was professionally done. The Head unit is a Stinger Elev8 https://stingerelectronics.com/products/elev8, with all new amps Speakers, Sub woofers, door dampening, front and rear cameras, Apple car play, Bluetooth Navigation system etc. The screen sits below the AC vents, it is fixed into position onto the head unit and the window and climate control buttons Buttons are visible behind the screen, but easily reached. I can hear it very well when driving moderately. The Sirius radio reception is a bit intermittent but itunes, apple car play, music is outstanding. IMHO it is a state of the art system.

I swapped in an Alpine head unit and Focal speakers instead of the factory fit rubbish, being sure to keep the latter for originality in case for future sale. It's a huge improvement in sound quality, with very musical and balanced sound, and Bluetooth is essential, but in a gated 430 Spider it can't compete with the other sounds when pressing hard. For that you would need Mike's system.

In a 430 Spider you have a challenge with proper resonance and bass, as you have no back shelf and the door cavities don't generate much oomph. The exact same head unit powering four Focals in my gated 575 gives a much bigger sound stage, though still it's not a big sound, you need a proper amp for that.

Don't these screens block your window switches? They all look like they do, and obstruct your view of the AC controls, or is that just camera angle?
