Hey, I'm driving my 87 TR to Monterey car week from LA. Is anyone else going? I'm going to concourso Italiano. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
I'll keep an eye out for the only red Ferrari. I'll have the grey one. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
Good to see you guys out driving them. Please post lots of pics for those of us who can't be there this year !
Here are just two random pics. 780 total miles. On the drive from LA to Monterey leaving at 6 am, I made it in one tank of gas and averaged 20.8 mpg. So I'd say that was pretty good. The car had some issues, the hood latch cable snapped, I know have a clunk from the rear, the car wanted to overheat while in 100+ weather going 20 mph. AC stayed cold though and the car was great. Though the exhaust drones at 80mph. I'd do it again but maybe try other events. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
Did they really park all the TRs in the back corner near the toilets? Now I know why the prices never go up.
Yep, when you think toilets, think my grey TR. Thought more people saw my car than others because it was right there. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
The event was definitely smaller this time. Was nothing like 2019. I don’t know why, all the other events that I went to were pretty crowded. Except for Russo and Steele auctions. I guess the weaker events like this are not holding up as well.
California is burning, choking on smoke, their gov is in recall, covid is rampant, hospitals full, inflation rapidly rising over 5%, rent moratorium going away with many to soon be homeless, landlords broke, sky high gas prices, borders wide open, crime is off the charts.... our military in retreat, Taiwan is about to be invaded.... Hmmm.... can’t imagine why anybody would pass on an event like this.
I’m not worried the Taliban will eventually take over America. A little bit dramatic don’t ya think. Every other event was jammed packed. I guess they didn’t care or worried either.
I saw Kartboy's car and almost met Zeff at the Barnyard. It would be easier to connect if I had my car there. Otherwise you don't know who owns what. Kartboy, It is great that you drove up from LA. Your car was incredibily clean after that long drive. Your fuel economy is pretty damn good too. I am sorry to hear about the snapped cable. Is the clunk in the rear related to this? Monterey was a blast. It was my first time and I will do it again. I went up with my family so my Testarossa stayed home. The bonus was I finally met 302Tim and thanked him for all his help.
Yes... the drama is high. As the Twin Towers fell, 2977 died. 20 years later, we are saddled with 29 Trillion in debt - $86,000 owed by every man, woman, child and infant in America. Current Afghan count: 2448 US soldiers killed. 3846 US contract civilians killed. Americans. The Afghani people’s head count is a staggering, crying shame. More of everything on the way. Sorry to digress. I’ll leave it there. Don’t want to be a downer. Anyway... truly glad to see it was a good time in Monterey. After all, these are still the good old days.
I think the clunk in the rear is the parking brakes. Or at least I hope it is. Nothing major broke so that was good. I made sure to polish and wax the car a lot before the trip. The bugs just wiped off. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
Thanks for the great pics Kartboy! So jealous of you guys being there this year, hopefully next year or the one after I can get back there. Also that is amazing fuel economy!
