I would assume that the car won’t be compromised from a practicality standpoint (although can’t confirm). To me it appears to just have aero changes and that lovely V8 sound. Hopefully with some weight removed.
I would like maybe a little more purposeful looking and working interior and graphics on the screen. Everything needs to be stepped up a bit on the "sporty" level.
I’m a little confused—was the non-big-wing C8 also a Z06? If so, I’d be very interested in that less flamboyant looking convertible C8 Z06!
There has been a “Z07” package in the past- maximum performance. This appears to be the “regular” Z06 and the max performance version- carbon fiber wheels, bigger rear wing/splitter, etc.

would be nice it were a “short tail” version and redesigned the rear slightly. dont need to haul around golf clubs if its a track focused car.
Lots of pics. https://www.motor1.com/news/527947/chevy-corvette-z06-launch-teaser/ Nice car stupid looking big wing, even if it works. The one without the boig wing looks better imo. Wish the rear was more like the c8R. Its a big ass like a Tr. Echoing the thought above " be nice it were a “short tail” version and redesigned the rear slightly. dont need to haul around golf clubs if its a track focused car." Well soon know what the rest is like and how track focussed it really is..
. you whine about it not being 'track focused' enough, and then you whine about it's FUNCTIONAL, TRACK FOCUSED rear wing. ... So you're more concerned about looks than being track focused? ok .
Nope A great car has it all. Astrhetics, sound and performance. I ve never thought to make excuses for american cars. I own and drive them, some of them are excellent. If this car sounded flatulant many would coment. Youre reminding me of the people who went apoplectic when the interior of the c6 was called crap, it was. KIa has proven that for the same $ you can make a great lookign car. the bat wing to me, and to others does not look great, and wings are one of those features that can really make a car.. So far of all the c8s Ive seen the wingless ones look great. . Ill finish by saying, lets how how functional that wing is, how much real downforce it produces, not downforce at 180 mph which is irrlevant but downforce at 80-130 the types of speeds where its really useful on track.
Some new pics, good ones of side view, comentary on body paneles and ofsetts. Nice front splitter visisble. I wonder whether one will be able to adjust ride height. If thats the z07 then CF wheels are an option cause those look metal, which is a plus.. Its an interesting car thats for sure. https://www.evo.co.uk/chevrolet/corvette/202780/2023-chevrolet-corvette-z06-spied-again-will-it-finally-topple-the
Are you talking about a "great" car or a "great" TRACK car? They are NOT the same thing. Not sure how KIA got into a Corvette Z06 thread...
great car But I’ll sacrifice ice some looks for downforce, that being said I’m trying to think of a street legal car that has good downforce from wings. The few with real downforce do it mostly with nderbody aero. it’s hard o make a street legal wi g that’s big enough to really work Significantly in the realistic 80-130 cornering speeds. In any event let’s see, maybe Vette cracked the code, in which case form follows function or maybe the batwing shape is there for rear vision which would be a pity given the aesthetic compromise.
Unoffical 7.14 nubering laptime including some traffic. Hard to say what that means for a proper timed run cause thyere just testing about now. But a serious time is 30 secs quicker which ill bet is in the cards, ie perfomante times. The nurberign times are interesting cause its a single lap and cars that dont perform exceptionaly well on smaller tracks can do good times there, hp and high speed aero negate weight at the ring for a lap or so. In some ways though a car worked out at the nurbering has lots of the good basics dialed in. The question for me is will the z08 be a stepped up c8 road car with cool sounding motor some suspension and aero as some here assert, ie like a regualr 458, or a more full on warrior with real weight reduction and lots of the right bits, more Gt3/Gt2 or preferably better. Mayeb thats the difference between the regular z06 and the z07 option. A clue for me would be if you can get a z07 car with steel brakes and metal wheels.
Here's a cool video. Video of the C8 Stingray and the C8 Z06 at the 'ring, same corners...gives you a good feel for the sound difference between an SBC and the new 5.5L Corvette C8 ZO6 vs. Corvette C8 Stingray | Sound Comparison at the Nurburgring - YouTube
