Listing this for a friend who is not on the site. I am currently in possession of the car to help him sell it. Please direct all questions to me via PM.

2002 RUF R550 Turbo with letter of authenticity. Currently showing 77,500 miles, will go up slightly as I drive it.

This is a fantastic car, but the current owner simply does not have time to drive it. Silver on Black, Tiptronic. Say what you will about a Tip, but it makes this car into a great daily driver.

    MECHANICALLY 9.5/10

Just had a service at the local Porsche dealer, including a new fuel pump ($2k). Runs like a dream. The only ‘issues’ it has are leaking hydraulics for the wing (common) so the warning light will come on over 75 mph. One of the struts on the frunk is also starting to fail and will need replacement soon. Other than that, it’s in tip-top shape.

    INTERIOR 9/10

Some slight bolster wear commensurate with mileage. The only other real wear item is around the ignition. Could easily be sorted with a replacement bezel. The rear-view mirror should also be replaced, as it’s started to get ‘wavy’. Altogether the interior is a great place to be, with tons of carbon fiber and supple leather.

    EXTERIOR 8/10

Paint shows well, and there is protective film still in place. The only things I could find wrong were:

    - Small rock chip on center of hood

    - Small scuff on front bumper, does not go past the paint protection

    - Small scuff on rear bumper

    - Small scratches on top of the wing

    - Small chip in passenger side brake light cover

This is a beautiful example of an R550. I’ve tried to describe it as accurately as I can and am happy to answer any questions. I will take additional photos this weekend after I’ve had a chance to wash her.

Located in Bailey Colorado. Asking $69,500 or reasonable offers.

    Thanks!

True RUF? Surely worth every penny.

Tiptronic is the dealbreaker for me.

    Otherwise? Surely a dream car!

Yep. Not one of those "throw a badge and bumper on it" cars.

I would highly recommend getting it professionally detailed and photographed then thrown on BaT. You'll probably get more than your ask.

How many HP did these have? (IIRC the stock 996 Turbo with the X50 was 450HP? Is the 550 the HP?)

yikes. Was it the 996 Turbo that was nicknamed the widow-maker? Or was that just the GT2?

Does that make the R550 the family-destroyer?

What a machine these must be (and someone(s) actually drove this car a fair bit). Cool car for $69.5k. GLWS. I agree with the BaT comment above...

Actually, FYI, this is not a true RUF car. All RUF cars have a W09 Vin #. GLWS.

Just the GT2. 476 hp and rear drive....

A lot of people have modified 996 Turbos well past 550hp.

It's not a ruf Vin, but it is a certified conversion. A RUF Vin would raise the price substantially.

I've owned a heavily modded 996tt. Well over 550hp, but the reliability was, well, sub optimal.
