    Did the guy on the far left drive his 250 GTO to the race before winning his class? I know his car is now there at the museum. I think he drove his F1 to and from LeMans and the UK recently, too.

    It's the man 3rd to the right, his name is Francois Perrodo. No he did not drive his GTO, that was another person. he drove his 250 GT LWB California Spyder in that same convoi.

    Oh ya that is him! Guy on far left looked like at him at first so I stopped looking across. I missed out on seeing that GTO at the Simeone Museum some years ago (2016). Hopefully one day I can see it.

    Yes, that's the one. Although I wonder if he repainted it as the color looks lighter in all photos of it now in different types of lighting. It's on display at the Musée des 24 Heures du Mans now. Apparently its old front end is for sale here in Fchat classifieds...

    That contact took the Corvette out of contention. Diffuser and then transmission issues.

    they missed the podium by about 2.5 minutes, but they did finish 4th and 5th

    Both cars finished their first 24 Hr Le Mans. That's a win alone. 4th and 5th OVERALL out of 5 in class. No dis, but I don't think they were ever a threat to the Toyota's.
    BUT, in a 24 hr race, anything can happen. How many 'incidents' was the #7 Toyota in? 3, 4? Any one of which could have taken the car out. Sooo lucky.

    For Glickenhaus to have his 2 cars finishing Le Mans at his first attempt is a success.
    It shoulnd't be forgotten that it's a private team, not a factory one.
