Wonderful project Matthias. So good to see some more hardware in details. Congrats with the original key set, that's quite rare. Plastic base for the lid opener will be hard to find in usable original condition and it looks like either the roll cage or the lid base will have to re-locate somehow if you will prioritize functionality over the original roll cage hack job...-:). Thanks for sharing the project. Looking forward to follow your endeavor.

    Best, Peter

luckly I have an almost perfect one in my parts collection.... the little crack is right lever base, wasn`t used at #02678 because of the rollbar... just first and second lever base fixed to the body....

Good luck. I had even two NOS ones in my spare parts, still in plastic bags. When I wanted to pull the out they fell into pieces.
Working for a company advertising "expertise in plastics" I would say the robustness is not depending on the usage
and even not on sunlight exposure (UV- Light) bust simlpy on time when the softening agent dissapears. No one will survive at least.

The original "Big" fire estinglisher is still with the car, was replaced by Court in the early 1980`s.
Original position was also in front of the co-driver seat.
Two spray nozzle: One for the passenger cabin (original one still mounted to the dashboard), second one was placed in the engine bay.
As only one spay nozzle survived, I`m looking for a second one, maybe must be recreated....
Interesting the original tube was a clear/white rubber tube!

we all assumed, that Ferrari put a full aluminium body on the Le Mans Dino 246 GT #02678.... by no means....
apart from the front bonnet, the four to the body riveted flaires and the front spoiler the body was made out of steel.... even the engine lid and the boot lid....
that makes it so much easier to preserve things.....
(have to correct this fact in the new Dino Compendium)

Amazing! Maybe something to do with the regulations having to be same as standard?

    more interesting stuff.... tires

even in the official Le Mans book it says the Dino no.46 was equiped with goodyear tires, wrong too.....
On all at Le Mans taken pictures Michelin racing tires T.A.3 are put on the car....

Does anybody know what the actual size was.... 205/70 VR 14?

Unfortunately it looks like the tire isn`t in production any longer.... only 13" and 15" tires....

    N.A.R.T sticker:
    2x NART small 100x142mm
    1x NART big 135x192mm
both sticker had a little white border and the yellow looks like a fraction more orange than late 1960`s sticker with no border and more yellow...
Marcel, thank you for the small sample sticker sent....
(Marcel`s original sticker on the left, original late 1960`s sticker on the right)

the surface is kind of matt, looks printed, no modern glossy sticker....

to me that looks the correct sticker, any other opions?

I have some Champion plugs stickers I can measure.

You should reach out to Moorespeed in Austin, TX on the NART format, as David Moore has a customer that has taken a 250SWB to Goodwood.
From that experience he has become an expert on the various "eras" of the NART logo and has most of them formatted for production.

today Dr. Gundula Tutt came to see the 1972 Le Mans Dino
Start - Dr. Gundula Tutt - Omnia Restaurierung historische Fahrzeuge (jimdofree.com)

Regarding the technical inspection stamp we found out it maybe was a kind of decal or a stamp covered with a clear protection sticker.
Unter the UV light you can clearly see glue leftovers. Also possible to see a round sticker edge (yellow arrows)
    Any comments....?

Also confirmed that Ferrari took a ready build production 246 GT (#02678) and converted this car into the Le Mans race car.
The racing wheel arch flares were added to a already painted body and were painted when added.
The driver side, damaged in the back, was repaired after the Le Mans race at the factory, the transitions can easily be identified under UV light.

This is the standard Le Mans scrutineering decal.
Here's an older sample. The design was slightly altered later.
