The wheels arches are realllly wider than the Levante’s ones!

And the front hood looks longer too (maybe due to the angle of the photo).

I had the same impression when I looked at the picture for the first time and then I thought to myself that with this kind of hood length it won't be a problem lodging a V12.

Saw it several days in Maranello too. Doesn't look like a real SUV, which is good, but doesn't look like a Ferrari either... is there any real info, that the engine will be a V12? I find that hard to believe, keeping in mind the target, that Ferrari are aiming to with this... thing.

It has been exposed - not officially, was it? - that it will be proposed with a NA V12 (surely derived from the 812), and a hybrid V8TT (some earlier sources mentioned a hybrid V6TT though).

In the picture below the Purosangue mule spotted this week (top) is put side by side with a mule spotted in February 2021 (bottom). Despite the differences in camouflage both mules look similar and the only visible difference is the bonnet of the top mule that seems to be slightly open.

    Exactly!

And MDEL’s analysis are very often the occasions to compare the mules and to see the potential evolution of the elements tested, by seeing the shapes modified on this Levante body.

You're right and my guess is that the final body will be something very different from the travestied Levante bodies of these mules.

The Purosangue mules continuo being very active around Maranello and for the first time there is one with a peculiar exhaust pipe. Anyone can guess why Ferrari is using on this mule such a long exhaust pipe?

This mule is probably fitted with the V6TT or V8TT, hence the sound.

The sound may not be the definitive one, due to the exhausts pipes that are not not totally finished and developed.

The top picture was taken from the latest video posted here by Maha and shows the rear of the Purosangue mule. The bottom picture was taken last July and despite of the fact that both mules have the same plate number, their camouflages are different. Certainly Ferrari is using at least two Purosangue mules and my guess is that each one of them is fitted with a different engine.

I’m pretty sure there are at least ten Purosangue mules driving around Maranello.

I can’t remember where in F-Chat I read that, but the test plates numbers are apparently linked to the driver and not to the car. I haven’t verified this info, but that could explain the same number on different cars, and also different numbers on the same car.

    I posted this last June….
"After doing a bit of research on the plate numbers we see on the Purosangue mules the conclusion I got to is the following. These test plates are known as "Targa Prova" and their purpose is allowing the temporary circulation of vehicles, assigning insurance coverage without a registration certificate. In Italy "Targa Prova" plates are issued regionally and my presumption is that the first number after the first three letters XOp for instance identifies the issuing region. This test plate can be transferred from one vehicle to another and that could explain why we've seen two different Purosangue mules with the same "Targa Prova". "

Very interesting analysis, thanks for the reminder! If that’s so « random », that indeed could explain that the same number has been seen in multiple cars, and that several numbers have been seen on the same car.

We haven't many clues of how the Purosangue will look but according to a recent patent registered by Ferrari it will be equipped with a new generation intelligent climate control system.

I think the final shape and dimensions are going to be similar to these mules, no? It seems unlikely that at the last minute they pop the running gear into a completely different body without extensive road testing that combination too.
So I think it will look more like the mule than a Lusso-style.
Perhaps @day355 can comment? I know he can’t reveal too much but perhaps he can say something like, “Yes, the general size and shape is similar to mule, or No they are masterfully fooling us all and it is very different from mule.”

    So... @day355
    Yes
    or
    No

    :)
