I saw the attached photo posted on Instagram during Monterey Car Week. It struck me as quite odd because I had never a 275 GTB/4 with this rear end treatment, I'm accustomed to seeing 275GTB/4's with a total of two circular tail lights. I was wondering how many of these cars were produced & if there was any indication as to what prompted the design change.

Hah I had that car right in front of my desk for months almost twenty years ago, loved the color and the unique, special order details.

Maybe a privately done aftermartket change by one of the previous owners?

See the thread "Pics of vintages I find/see on the net" - post #1358 and post #1361. Details original to this car, rear lights are 500 Superfast.

Wonder what year some of those sales went through - the 365 GTC on the site sold for $129,500. The "SOLD -THANK YOU!" in listing was a nice touch

Is this the one that was at Waterman’s? If so, I passed it every day on my way to work, seeing it baking in the sun behind the showroom’s plate glass window. I always wondered why it took so long to sell. I figured it was one of those cars that Ed didn’t really want to sell.

Yes it was but before or after that Ed also had a stunning 4 cam displayed at the south end of the showroom. That one was, IIRC, Nocciola which he sold to an Argentine in Miami who then did a huge touring rally in his homeland with it.

When he likes a car he does not try too hard to sell it:)

Now that you mention it, it was probably the nocciola that I recall.

Yep. East-facing plate glass window, wheezing wall unit air conditioner and a floor fan to cope with the heat.

That's why no one normally visits Florida in high summer but you hadn't gotten the memo;).

I loved that car. Driving past it twice a day (I lived in Rio Vista and worked on US1 north of Oakland Park Blvd) was inspiring and frustrating at the same time.
