Hi all. I sold my 2011 458 Italia with 8900 miles 5 years ago. Since then, I've been totally out of the Ferrari scene. I just did a search and feel prices have increased a lot. I sold mine for $174,000. Comparable cars are all over $210,000 up to $230,000 now!!.

Is this related to Covid lack of production or is it just 458's being last ones naturally aspirated?

I think it's everywhere. I just sold my 2016 Huracan for $35k more than I paid for it 2.5 years ago.

I was going to spend a few months in Italy with my family in 2020. We used to eat out five nights a week. I've got more money for cars than ever before and I doubt I'm unique.

free money in the market, makes you wonder about the efficacy of PPP money. Everything including the 2 by 4 in home depot.

Now people chose not to work because they make more money that way.

I will soon enter P&R forum to frigging vent.

Have you looked to see what your house is worth today versus a few years ago? Have you taken a look at what a used Honda is worth today versus a few years ago? How about what used watches are going for? Have you priced construction materials recently?

I could have bought my Pista last year for about $50k less than I recently purchased it for today. The real question is how long can inflation continue as there seems to be no end to the Raging Bull.

There is nothing transitory about higher food, retail, home and car prices which have surged due to the economic stimulus. Whether monetary easing can cure this only time will tell, but exotic car prices seem to have no problem going higher without demand waning one bit.

All cars have increased in price…I drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee for 2 years and only lost $3k… sports and exotic cars have increased in value

Everything is up. Check out the local car lots and most have limited inventory. Supply chain issues, etc, etc.

I bought my 458 originally for $220K. I drove it for 3 years and sold it for around $175K.

Today it's probably back to being worth $215K or more.

I'm new. I sold my 2018 Porsche turbo as a trade. I bought it used. I received 14. k more on trade in that what I paid for it. It was chalk colored with red and black interior so it's highly desirable. I got a 2018 488 Spider with the proceeds

Nice return! I was recently offered from a dealer more for my 2020 Carrera S than what I paid for it new 13 months ago. Crazy time.

Many dealers are buying cars up, and putting whatever price they want..auction prices for the cars have increased a bit but not as high as the dealer listed retail prices have increased..i don't think this model will last that long, i don't see the cars going back to the $140's but i do see them declining a bit then leveling off. $250,000 for a 458 that was $180,000 a few months ago doesn't make sense..buyers will get to a level and stop buying, then prices should correct

The biggest impact on car prices currently is due to the global chip shortage. Deliveries of new cars are heavily impacted, so people have resorted to the used car market. You see this at the high as well as low end of the market. Incredible situation.

458 not a good example, as many if not most now regard them as modern classic. Those prices are not going to dive.

I agree. I think quite a few enthusiasts have come to the conclusion that the 458 series represents a high water mark, if not THE high water mark, for mid-engined V8 production Ferrari’s going back to the very beginning through the F8. Introduction of the 296 put the final nail in the coffin for dreamer people still wishing Ferrari would continue with unassisted V8s.

The 458 is going to be the next 355. Prices down here have gone nuts over the past few years.

This three years was just about the time people needed to understand how special of a car 458 truly is. Now it's becoming quite clear to everyone what it represents in the line of FCars.

Next icon like 355 for sure. But WITHOUT the servicing cost nightmare. 458 is rock solid really!

Only time can tell that sometimes. You don't necessarily know what car is an end of each line. And trends change and evolve with times.
