Yep, i've been fortunate (or unfortunate, whichever way you want to look at it lol) to have driven a bunch of those old rust buckets from a Phase 1 to a 327 GTS Monaro and everything else in-between and let me tell you.................those cars don't blow my skirt up gentlemen! They would have been pretty cool back in their day but.
Beautiful OHOS Jon!…We’ve got Betsy our first one at the entrance to CX…I’ve tried to convince CX to use it on the Hongkong to Macau run ( Silver Service ) for naustalga….They got it flying about 20 years ago..Then just parked it at the entrance..
Yes...I never drove a Phase 4, but all the other equivalents from Holden and Ford I drove regularly when they were new.
I drove a phase 4 and Monaro 327 GTS, thought they were armageddon at the time and the speedo increments were outrageous for the time with I think 20 mph increments ? I also had an R/T Charger E38, seemed quick to me then
Yeah that’s correct JM…It’s not pressurized..They still fly them commercially in South America and Northern Canada..In South Africa they have re engined them with PT6 Turbines…
Because they are pressurized and fly around at the speed of sound JM… A seagull with a tailwind is faster than a DC3…
There was a manual one in Oz no more than 2 years ago as I had considered it when I offloaded the 308....it definitely wasn't telephone numbers. I decided against it due to rarity for parts/servicing etc.
