Replying to my own post from a few years ago. The pouch prices continued to go up and up.
Finally got a new old stock one for $1000.

Update on this thread. My son is old enough to know about Ferraris and he convinced me to remove the airbox restrictor. So it is out and I'm re-painting the airbox now. Lots of rust under the former glasspack area. Pictures to follow.

The airbox was removed to change to water pump over a year ago. Due to the COVID there has been no time to work on the 308, but I have a much needed week off! Try to get a years worth of work done with my little break.
I removed the restrictor and found it very rusted under the glassfiber.
Need to prep and paint the interior.

I don't have access to any plating, so these parts will get paint.
Someday my son with do a full ground-up restoration on the 308. I believe it will be worthwhile.

I know that when I was my son's age, my father and I did NOT do a ground up restoration on our 250GTE. Why sink over 50K into a car that will only be worth about 25k? Of course we were wrong.
I remember we got laughs when we thought of trading in the old 250GTE on the brand new 308 GTB.

Sadly my father sold the 250GTE sometime in the 1990s without telling me.

I would watch those fuel hoses. I had a few go bad and switched to ethanol safe EFI hose. They will last a few years but not much more, unless you found something I dont know about!
    Everything looks real good!

I found that you do not need a hose clamp on that larger breather hose under under the airbox. That makes it allot easier to remove. When I need to remove the airbox I take off the oil filter, reach underneath there and grab the hose and twist a little bit and it pops right off, sometimes I have to loosen the hose clamp on the other end. 10 times and 20 years later no leaks. I tried a bunch of ideas to try to deal with those little carburetor bushings but the only thing that seems to work for me is when I take the air box off I get a long bamboo toothpick and pop them out the bottom so they don't fall into the carburetors.

Another trick I use is to put a zip tie around the hoses going into the water ump to keep them lifted out of the way of the water pump pulley.

Of course disregard any of these suggestion if you have an alternate way!

The factory green balance hose that runs between the two is an insurance nightmare. Be VERY careful there. Upgrade from factory; screw originality.
