Sorry to see Kimi go. Out of the current entire F1 grid Kimi and Ricci would be the ones I’d want as next door neighbors. Charles is up there too.

Kimi had some of the ballsiest drives but driving through smoke at Spa without lifting during qualifying was balls of titanium stuff. Means that Bottas will get that seat imho.

KImi has been on pre-retirement for some time already, it seems.

But I remember that he was truly a revelation when he did burst into F1.

Sauber had problem obtaining him a Superlicence with only 23 races under his belt.

To me, he never drove better than during his 2 years at McLaren, which most people have forgotten by now.

So that leaves a seat at Alfa and one at Williams....I'm guessing Bottas will go to Williams, Schumacher will go to Alfa, and Kvyat will go to Haas...which will go from being a US team to a Russian team.

Like many world champions, Kimi was close to another one or two, will miss him. Possibly good news for GIO.

Rumor is GIO won't be around next year, either. The difference is that his exit won't be quite as celebrated.

I don't know if anyone will notice Giovinazzi's departure from F1.

Wrong! He had the opportunity to pad his record numbers and took it.

Still the most recent Ferrari champion.

    Timing is perfect.

I hope he does some WRC driving. "Mwah, I know what I am doing!" lol

Kimi is an absolutely brilliant driver that I do not care for in the least. Of course that is merely a personal opinion but there is no doubt that when he strapped a helmet on the guy is something very special.

From a sporting perspective perhaps he hung around a season or two too many. That said how many of us would turn down getting paid millions of dollars to race F1. I wish him all the best and presume his future will be away from the sport. I can't see him going sportscar racing or being involved in a team. I could very well be wrong but call it a gut feeling.

Oh I'm sure he knew that he was there to help develop the car at Alfa, and not to win anything. Hell he's one of the oldest guys in the field. He and Alonso weren't intended to win anything this year, just give 20 years worth of experience (in Kimi's case) in feedback on the car to help development.

Now that the cars have such drastic changes next year, it makes sense for this one to be the final for him.

I'm going to miss the ever-loving hell out of him out there. Happy for him to be able to enjoy retirement with the ice cubes. ;)

One of the last of the alpha (sic) drivers.

Thanks for the thrills and the fun, Kimi!

Easily my favourite driver after Schumi. IMO he re-joined Ferrari a little too late, I can see him winning some of Vettel's championships.

Hope he joins Ferrari's LMH effort in the near future.

If there ever was a happy moment in my life, it was that afternoon in 2007.

He had to leave, his time is over, but he won't be forgotten.

Will miss him, my favorite driver on the grid and one of the best. IMO the most naturally talented driver. You don't come into F1 with 23 car races and beat your teammates right away, then move to a top team the year after fighting for a championship.

Will greatly miss him. Superb driver. What a great career he's had. Some missed opportunities but there won't be many like him...I hope we get to see him doing other types of racing still.

I've heard both Alfa drivers gone, Russell to Mercedes, Albon to Alfa, De Vries to Alfa, Bottas to Williams. Would be nice to see Schumacher move up to Alfa at least...
