F8 Another RC F8 - Finally Got It

Well, I finally took delivery of my F8 last night (and my first Ferrari). I ordered it from Ferrari BH last November and they were great guiding me through the process. Had it not been for the delays at port, I would have had it sooner.

I had them install an Antigravity Battery (holy ****, the OEM one is so damn heavy), then they did the paint correction, clear bra, and ceramic coating.

So far, I’m in love. It’s so different than all my previous GT3s and GT3 RS (which it replaced). It’s comfortable, but still brutally fast, yet so smooth and effortless. It compliments my daily (a 700hp Supra) very well.

I affectionately call my spec the “This is my First Ferrari Spec” since I tried to stick with very traditional Rosso Corsa and Beige. But, I put in some of my own details and very minimal CF.

I’m looking forward to joining you guys at the track, on drives, and events.

Honestly, my Porsche dealer is great. They have never played games with me and I purchased my 991.1 GT3, 991.2 GT3, and 991.2 GT3 RS with no adm and I was one of their first to get them each time. I just got bored/tired after having six years of virtually the same car and I wasn't feeling the 992. I might get a 992 GT3 RS, but we'll see. Also, to be honest, the GT3 crowd, at least in LA, is a bit lame. It's meant to be a track car, and I go to the track with it, but you have owners who just love to wax about how rare their 1 of 2 shade of black PTS car is, and/or how they don't want to take it to the track because it'll affect their resale, and/or the lame YouTubers just doing donuts in them. I think Donut Media in one of their videos said everyone in LA went from GT3s to McLarens, that's a kind of sad statement.

In short, the flippers and some of the owners, rather than the Porsche dealer really made me want to make the jump. And, I've always wanted to make the jump, and this was the perfect car to do it in.

Yes, so I have a 2020 GR Supra, it has an AMS catless downpipe, HKS exhaust, AMS CF airbox, Visconti Tuning Flex Fuel kit, EOSpeed port injection rail, ID1050x injectors, controlled by a Motiv Reflex port injection module, Pure 800 turbo, Visconti Tuning Stage 1 Fuel System upgrade, and it is all custom tuned via EcuTek by Counterspace Garage. On a crappy, bumpy surface with a less refined iteration of my tune since installing port injection (and me missing shifts), I did 60 - 130 in 6.6 seconds on a full tank of fuel (a 60% blend of E85 and regular pump gas). It should be capable (on a good surface) of doing 60 - 130 in the low 6's, high 5's. Now I'm limited by the transmission, so once that is strengthened, I can add more power to the car. It's a lot of fun and definitely a sleeper.

 

I think it sounds ok, definitely not as evocative as the sounds of my GT3, but I also don't miss having ringing in my ears after a track day. I think people tend to exaggerated how muted it is, since I think it sounds good, but just not as loud as a Ferrari should sound. I'm still exploring what exhaust to get, if I do get one. I want to go with a proven and well-known company, rather than some of these one-off shops, so I'm looking at Akrapovic, but I want to do more research.

Yes, my Ferrari dealer did the swap when it came in for PDI (I bought and dropped off the battery to them). They were a bit weirded out, but they were happy to do it. They left the old battery in the trunk, and man, it is HEAVY! Glad I saved some weight off the car with the Antigravity.
