Anyone know what this sound is? Seems to go away when it is cold. I am thinking maybe distributor?

Never heard that before. Aside from that sound, it sounds just like mine. Does it change with rpm or load, in gear or not…if in gear only certain ones? Really not sure where to send you. I would take it my local guy and see if he has heard it before.

I hear it in gear or out. but I have only really been able to hear it well when idling. It seems to be much too slow to be based on engine rotation and when I have heard it while driving it seems to be about the same speed. Wish I had a local guy her in Salt Lake City familiar with the cars.

Get a piece of plastic tube (or a stethoscope) and listen to different parts of the engine. My guess is bearings in the water pump or alternator, or perhaps the oil pressure valve (try listening to the big plug on the front of the timing cover which houses the valve.) How is your oil level? Might be sucking air.

I removed the air pump. With it gone I don't think anything would be pressurized to leak would it?

Get one of those cheap mechanics stethoscopes from harbor freight and isolate where it is coming from.

Changed the oil and it sent away, probably low oil.
