This sounds like it could be a nickname for the gendarmes... G1: 'Did you see that green Ferrari?' G2: 'Ah yes, that's Mostly Marcel.' G1: 'Mostly?' G2: 'Yes. He Mostly obeys the posted speed controls when we are looking'. '
330 GTC #49 is painted in its original Viola 2.443.412. Viola = Purple. Blue and Purple is not the same. Garage and Ecurie Francorchamps founder Jacques Swaters (note spelling) in Belgium has nothing to do with Viola (Purple). Blu Swaters was introduced September 1992 with the presentation of the 456 GT. Marcel Massini
So are there any or many roads on which owners of high performance touring cars can drive/enjoy them as intended, i.e. extended distances at high speed, in that area ? I know in Germany there are Autobahns, but to my limited understanding, those seem similarly designed as Interstates (= boring conveyor belts) here, except they have higher or no speed limits. Just (mildly) curious.
Speed limit out of town in Switzerland is 80 km/h which is about 50 mph. There are no autobahns up to the passes. And if there were they would be limited to 120 km/h (75 mph). A Swiss millionaire female was just fined with a nice amount of 400'000 Swissies for speeding (US$ 445'000). She then went to the highest Swiss court which in the end reduced the fine to about 200'000 Swissies. Marcel Massini
Reminds me of former CEO(?) or something of Nokia having received a $65K(?) speeding ticket in Finland 20 or so years ago. Sorry to hear/read access to (extended) spirited driving is rather limited over there, but OTOH, it’s not much better here. ☹️ P.S. Love the word “Swissies”
It depends where you are. Central and Eastern Oregon has California quality roads with no traffic and no LEOs. Long sweepers, tight twisties, wide open stretches. I've gone hours on some pretty spectacular riding/driving roads and not seen another vehicle. Parts of Washington, Montana, and Idaho are similar.
that is one reason why I hate to drive in switzerland in thailand you pay only 500 baht when speeding, nevertheless if you are 20 km/h too fast or 120 km/h too fast.
Thank you, Marcel. My wife and I had lots of fun with our 512 BBi. Although we own it since 2017, it was in fact the first time we took it out for a rally and compared to our 1985 testarossa I have to admit that the BBi drives more like the successor than the predecessor of the testarossa. Since last weekend I love the car even more! As having won the Passione Engadina Julius Baer Rally in 2016 in our Daytona, the pressure was high on us to achieve good results again. But with some senior moments of myself in some of the special stages we finally ended up 2nd in class and 16th overall. But we have been only beaten by no one less than Miki Biasion in our class, who else can say that? @Marcel Massini thank you for your report and excellent photos. It is always a pleasure to see your posts. Can you tell me please what colour the Monza SP2 is? I expect a TM colour or similar but it is stunning. Thank you in advance.
Very kool, Bjoern. Always great to have your own private jet nearby, in case you wanna go and get a burger somewhere...... C U, Marcel Massini
Last 2 weeks I was on a 3000km tour of the Swiss Alps with a group of friends and while at a gas station in the Engadin, a silver Dino went whizzing by and I thought I should try and see who that was... I get home and open fchat and there it is! Thanks Marcel!
Mr. Massini, is Amaranto Roma Ferrari a different color than Rosso Amaranto? Can't seem to find photos of both colors in the web. Greetings
