You won't be disappointed, it is sensational and highly recommended.
Doug Nye and a genuine 64 GTO, the very best combined.

    Indeed!

Lots of early Dawn Patrol shots in here, and that comes EARLY
    My thanks as well.
I knew this would be an "odd year" but I would have loved to have seen the show.

A branch of my family dealt with Miller, entering entries into the 1920 and 1921 Indy 500.

    Texas!
You’re not going to believe this, but I grew up in Pensacola, Florida. I still remember riding the bus to junior high school and seeing a Porsche 904 parked under a tree on the way to school. How I knew what the car was, beats me, but I did. Back in those days, every Navy aviator trained at Pensacola. They also knew their next stop.

Gerald Roush used to tell me stories about sleeping on Pensacola Beach. Those were the days.

Thank you all for posting these wonderful pics of the Pebble Beach 2021 tour and concours. Thanks Marcel for the entry list to the Tour.
Do you know where I can find the full list of entrants to the Concours ? Or even better the car guide ?
I would like to know especially the entrants in the class gathering the former BOS winners.
    Thank you,

I admittedly don’t have a much experience researching or restoring vintage racing cars, so these may seem a bit novice questions:

The interior/seat cover material in this car looks very nice and seems quite well fitted/trimmed, but …
… is the material “period correct” ? I assume it is, at least by appearance.
… is or was it (originally) made of some “fire proof” fabrics/insulation ?
… were the interior/seat covers of all/most racing cars of this era (or older) originally this nicely done/fitted when the cars were new ?

It’s just that I have long believed (or doubted) that most 50+ years vintage production, let alone racing cars weren’t anywhere near the “perfection” we are accustomed to see them after complete/comprehensive restorations they’ve been subjected to in past 2-3 decades and/or shown on the lawns at the most prestigious Concours events around the world.
I mean, were the old racing cars originally blocked -/color sanded and buffed/polished to finishes we often see them with today ?

Just curious and hoping to learn.

Timo: If you looked at Ferrari factory entries at races during the 1950s, you would find most of the cars looked like they were painted with a brush! The street cars had a far nicer level of finish, but the paint materials of the day were not long lived and the finishes deteriorated fairly quickly.

what did Gerald Roush say when he judge the first Testarossa “professionally” restored?

Dyke, thank you for confirming what my limited experience around vintage cars in past 4+ decades has lead me to believe, or suspect, since I'm not old enough nor had any exposure to these types of vehicles, especially new ones, when and where I grew up, but later in my life having had some access to document, study and even own several unrestored ("survivor" ?) cars from 50+ years ago.

P.S. Your presence in Monterey was surely missed. A visit with you was my first (and most anticipated) stop at the L.S. on Friday.

Timo: Thanks for the kind words. Sue and I decided to pass on Monterey this year. Just too many questions regarding the virus and large crowds. While we both were sad in not seeing so many friends (you among them), we did not miss all the long days and hard work. There was still plenty to do here and we had extra time to drive and enjoy our cars.
