    Hi guys
I've attached a pic of my Spyder with the full Vorsteiner body kit and 21" 507 Vorsteiner wheels ...FYI. This has changed my car's profile completely. I love it ! I have every CF option that 488 offers .....except the wheels
I've come across these stunning CF wheels by a company called Brixtonforged. I've never heard of them. Plus these are being offered in 22/21 combo. There is no google review of these wheels .
Please help me out with any advice about the size i.e 22" and 21" combo, will these suit in your opinion, impact on ride quality from 21" and any feedback about the quality of this company.
I will really appreciate your input

    Thanks

I’ve had two sets of Brixtons (not carbon) and both turned out good. I usually deal with Austin at vivid racing, he’s always helpful through the process.

They will affect both performance and comfort. Performance will be diminished for a number of reasons.

The larger diameter rear tyre will act as,a longer final drive. This will slow down acceleration.

The larger rear tyres are significantly heavier than the stock shoes. This weight will easilly offset any potential weight savings on the wheels. Furthermore the weight is,added where it does the mist damage to performance, namely at the outer most circumference of the wheel. Add to that the increased diameter which makes the effect of the heavy tyre even greater. This will affect both acceleration and breaking performance.

The lower profile will load the suspension harder, and the overall weight gain of the wheels will also affect the suspension as the weight and stiffness of the tyre is not what the suspension is tuned for. This will also make the car ride harsher.

The lower profile will give the car a harsher ride, both because the sidewalls are shorter, but also because the air pressure needs to be increased.

My experience running the Pista with CF and alloy wheels, is that the CF wheels are a bit firmer. Add this to a wheel with lower profile tyres pumped harder, and comfort is greatly reduced, as well as increased road noise.

These cars need front end grip more than anything. Adding substantial rear grip compare to the fronts will only serve to increase the tendency to understeer.

If you get these wheels, get them if you really like the look. Don't let any wheel vendor lead you to believe that the 21/22 setup is a performance benefit, and that comfort won't suffer. They cannot change the laws of physics, pure and simple.

That's such intelligent advise ! Thanks ! But do you reckon it will be a significant risk towards harsher drive for my needs?? So I'm a daily driver , drive on town roads possibly max 30 kms a day ...home to Work and some local cruising around town . I also have been driving on 21" Vorsteiners and I luuvv them . These did not change my ride harshness despite many many warnings. I was so pleasantly surprised esp.with the changeover to Michelins. Maybe the Michelins nullified the ride harshness.
Lastly, despite my plentiful readings on the absolute must have Novitec springs for bigger wheels , I decided to try Stock first . These work just fine for me. So no Novitecs! True my wheel arch gap is a bit higher but not aesthetically not too unpleasant...I think !
Yes...so looking for aesthetics but without compromising too much of the drive comfort from my current 21" to 22"/21". Thoughts?
Have a look at my current wheels.
Ps. Never going back to 20s . They look so bland now!

I can't tell you whether or not the comfort will be okay for you. Just know that it will be less.

Will the performance difference be noticeable? Yes it will, and you don't need to be a race car driver or push that car to feel the difference.

As for doing this on a daily? Never! Not because of comfort, but because it will be a pain to deal with. the car already have low profile tyres that don't protect the rim a lot. Imagine subtracting half an inch of profile while offering less rim side protection on CF wheels? Alloy wheels can easily be fixed and many of us do that. CF wheels? Every single scratch and nick will be very noticeable.

CF wheels are cool and I own them, but I would NEVER want a set for daily driving.

From a wheel size perspective, I've actually gone the other way on my 458 and downsized from the 21/22 setup that it came with, to 20/20 using the same model of motegi forged wheels. The ride is noticeably better, and following Il Co-Pilota's advice on tire sizing (255/305 from 255/335) the car seems to handle better.

I personally wouldn't run a 21" CF front wheel - I do a lot of canyon carving, sometimes on roads with unpredictable potholes, and actually bent one of the 21 inch front wheels on a pothole when the inside lip of the wheel itself contacted the pothole. Was able to repair it but factored into my decision to downsize to 20s. I'd be concerned with cracking a CF wheel under similar circumstances
