    So...question:

Is it OK to launch personal attacks against other forum members that happen to under temporary ban and are unable to defend themselves?

Agree with what you said but..
People should realize high level sportsmens have absolutely no influence to the world.
This is just a smoke screen for westerners consumers guy.

I guess that now that russel is going to Mercedes the crowd has what it wanted: a true challenger to soon to be 37 year old Hamilton.
I honestly hope Lewis beats him to silence the doubters otherwise forum pundits will be quick to dismiss his past accomplishments

That's what I've been saying for ages now.
If Russell beats Hamilton his whole legacy will be tarnished.

The way he's been commenting this last week or so makes it sound like he's rolling over already, like he knows what's in store for him.

37 years old is younger than Alonso.
The later is always a racing beast.
Mate, don't try to find excuses for Lewis !;)

Tbf to Hamilton Russell appears much more talented than Ocon.

Lol! If Lewis beats Russell do you know how many excuses we are gonna hear?! Toto is protecting Lewis, Lewis is controlling the team, blah blah blah

In the eyes of the haters Lewis is ALWAYS in a can't win situation because they will always formulate an excuse to support their narrative.

Lewis is in the twilight of his career while George is at the beginning. Both are massively talented but it is to be expected that Russell has the genetic advantage. Even so seeing Lewis and Max battle it out and elevate themselves over the others is pretty awesome to behold.

What I would really like to see at Mercedes is a situation like what happened at Tyrell when Stewart and Cevert were there. JYS took Francois under his wing and nurtured him forwards. Tragedy aside, it was a wonderful gesture by a great champion that could have paved the way for a wonderful F1 career.

I don't particulary like George, but he's fast and he's very good, i don't see him as "special" as Charles, but he's very good, he'll give elton a run for his money.

Ferrari has usually not been the best out there. the period you are referencing is when Ferrari were at one of their lowest points.

if you remember Enzo died in 88. they won one race that year - Berger at Monza a month after his death - only because Senna was too greedy... then in 90 with Prost they came 2nd - but again Senna did a kamikaze move to win the Championship. In 91 Ferrari went backwards - and because post Enzo the team was run corporately - they sacked Prost 2 races from the end, and the really never came back. in 94 & 95 they won 3 races total before Schumacher. While the 412T2 is probably one of the best looking F-1 Ferrari's of all time, it was not a real contender.

Clark, Stewart clearly built teams around them. If you Ask any of the remaining Lotus Mechanics ( Beaky Simms ) about Clark, he could come in and say x -y - z needs changed etc, they would do it and he'd be faster. back then you had 6-8 people on the team. today, the teams are so huge and technology is everwhere ... Yet - the driver has to be able to respond, and deliver. for that I credit Hamilton, but as a team builder... don't think so. Lauda - yes, Wolf Yes, Hamilton - no. He;s too busy doing his own thing.

I see no problem at all if Hamilton and other greats did not build teams. Even though Hamilton has played a significant role in Mercedes success, drivers are not hired to build teams.

The reality is they do it for themselves - not for the team.

+1 when did they get hired to 'build' a team. Thats a function of ownership/managemen - Completely.

When Michael went to Ferrari he understood the magnitude of the task that lay in front of him.
    Vettel should have understood.

You can’t humanly compare Stewart and Hamilton.
They don’t come from the same planet.
A gentleman and a hypocritical lecturer.
Cevert was a kind of James Hunt without the excesses. His death was a tragedy for French motorsport.

More fool RB, looks to me that they don't want to challenge for the constructors title, why on earth would you sign Perez performing the way he is?

They should have made an attempt to sign Alonso for a few seasons.

You have to applaud Mercedes for making this move.

Mercedes, like all teams, is self-serving. The fireworks show is just a byproduct of them grooming their next number one driver.

True, so what's RB's excuse then?

Let's not pretend that Perez is getting the most out of that car and Max is performing miracles.

They should have made a move for another top driver.

Current delta is only 12pts. With the 2nd half of the season just starting RB is very much in contention for the WCC.

I have no idea what they're doing/thinking. I don't really care either because they aren't Ferrari, and I'm not about to give Mercedes a standing ovation either.

Yes but look at the current performance, Perez is dropping off drastically.
